(My Opinion only) Diamond was a top food, got everyone saying and endorsing and dropped the GOOD STUFF out of it whatever that is. Not worth feeding a top hound. Black Gold pretty much the same thing. Can anyone remember when it smelled like peanut butter and all the colonels were the same color? If you catch it from an angle with a light you will see the difference in each colonel. Purina Pro Plan is too cheap to not feed it to your dogs. Right Now, But that may change. Nose and Eye allergies are easily detected in cheap dog foods for some reason. Not to offend anyone just my opinion.

I feed Diamond Adult Premium. I buy it at the local feed mill. 22 dollars for fifty pounds. I really like it.

green bag 26/18 been feeding it for about 10 years no real complaints here. i stick with it because i like the way my dogs hold up on it and the avalibilty of it around my place, can get in about 4 places within 15 miles of my house. once in a while i will see a little lose stool out of a dog but not to often. i pay any where from 22.99 to 25.99 for it, some of the places evem carry 50 pound bags too.

Fed diamond 24/20 for years dogs did great after they had their problems I stopped feeding for awhile went back to it after things settled down and it wasnt the same. The color had changed and the dogs didnt want to eat it. But about a mounth ago I was in TSC and noticed they were advertising a new improved formula so I have gone Back to it dogs love it again and are doing great, I noticed an immediate difference. There is a little more stool around the kennels but I can deal with clean up for performance. 50lbs 24/20=$24 TSC in Central NY

We fed it for a little while (too expensive, i think it is like $35 for a 38 lb bag) and we had the same results as feeding the Diamond Chicken & Rice. Right now, we are hunting about 3 nights a week 2-3 drops a night, when the weather breaks a little we will go a few more nights a week. The dogs all have great muscle tone and a real shiny, thick coat. Even my old dog (12 yrs old) does really great on this food, he has the energy to keep up with the younger dogs at least a few nights a week!

Every dog is different and may not do well on certain types of food. All I'm saying is that ours consistently do well (looks & performance) on Diamond Naturals and we have easy access to it.

I've fed the 24/20 high energy for about 8 years now. It's good feed for adult dogs most of the year but they will get really hot on it in the summer. I usually switch to a 26/18 in the summer.

Stay away from the yellow bag. Dogs will not look to well on it.

I fed it for years before the recall ( aflotoxin ) and was satisfied. I had the tainted feed kill nine dogs. Diamond just told me to kiss their a$$. I will never do business with someone who treats their customers that way. After the recall their feed sucked! Wouldn't feed it house dogs. How often do you hear support those who support you? Forget Diamond. Will never give them another dime of my money. I probably sent them tens of thousands worth of business and got the blow off when they messed up. Trust is expensive.

KUTTER...Southers States just started selling a new line of feed. The hi pro is 24/20 and supposed to be comparable to black gold..Its $14 for 40 pounds...Meat is the first 2 ingredients...You can check it out on their site. A lot of local guys trying it...Me included...Southern States donates a lot to our club and schools...Hope it will be what they are saying it is.

I agree with Mulberry Blue, only I only lost 1 dog and but two got sick and 1 was bad enough that the toxins caused him to start to seizure and now we have to deal with seizures, but at least he is still alive. Wouldn't give Diamond any business or recommendations...it is junk to me! jmo

why is it diamond paid some people for there tainted food and not others could it be that those that got paid had proof through there vetinarians and others didn't.
at lest diamond did a recall while the product was fresh i have seen other recalls for the same problem months after the product was past expiration date on the bags.
do you really think purina never had the same problem cause i remember when they did and food wasn't recalled i also remember when purina product wiped whole herds of cattle out a few years back.
i have done research and have learned corn can bee tested clean and hours later containted the same toxin that diamond had'
sunshine mills manufactures many differant brands of dog and pet food and recently had a recall for tainted food products that encompassed many brands.
i believe diamond's new improved forula is actualy a comeback of there old formula as it looks like the original and all my hounds really like it

Ditto!!!!!

Fed it for 2 yrs. 26/18 After the toxin thing, the dogs fell off on it. Thin, no heat cycles or no pups. Pooooo everywhere and feed, feed, feed and they looked like crap. Changed to Prism 26/18 and have had nothing but good come of it.

Diamond dog food is good for hogs, maybe, but never good enough for my dogs!!!!!

I feed the 24/20 high engery. Right around $22 for 50 lbs in Michigan at TSC. I also feed the 26/18 (Green and yellow bag). It's like $24 for 40 lbs. I like both and probably will feed the 24/20 for the cost as it seems comparable
