I have several spots that are "flat" and "easier" walking than the most spots in this area within a 1/2 hour drive of Rogersville.

Alot of coon as well. Farmland, around dairies. We went last Thursday night and treed 4 and seen 3 in just under 2 hours.

Depending where you draw out, more than likely you will have to be in pretty good shape as well as will your dog. If your dog is used to hitting a track right off the tailgate, like in alot of places up north, they may have a little tougher time. Your dog has to go hunting for a track around here. Not as much split treeing down here as well so they better be pretty quick track dogs. Not saying the dogs are better here than in thick coon populated areas, it just takes a different style of dog here.

well i know down here in good ole south mississippi that it might be a while when your dog opens and when he does open you better start walking cause he will be a long long way then some nights you can strike em right off the tail gate. Just depends if you catch them at the right time.

yea we have the mountains and all the rough walks to the dogs and everything like that but facts about it in the fall when the world is here you are gonna draw places that are used on a weekly basis for hunts and have a good coon population. as a rule you will usuall tree quick and not take all night gettin to the dogs but u will get after one of those running coons once in a while that will blow your hunt but keep in mind that you really dont need the high score of the hunt every night just the cast win. when we had the zones we scored 5 coons one night and 6 the other in the cast i judged and guided and the same spots will be used this year

I hunted the zone hunt in Rogersville several years ago. The first night they hunted over 160 dogs and i rode about 5 minutes to hunt. The second night I rode less than 10 minutes to hunt. The terrain was rolling hillside and no mountians. I can't think of a nicer club to host the World Finals. Everyone treated me wonderful. The food was outstanding, plenty of coon, and the people were all so cordial and friendly. I can only hope I can find enough dog power to get me back.
