JOE

I couldn't agree more. had a guy accuse two of my very good freinds of cheating when he treed in on dead tree. they even explained to him he was treeing seperate if he treed in & said he understood this , well when his dog was with theirs & was minused he told how they cheated him all over the country & some people believed this because they didn't have a clue about rules themselves & inturn they told the same thing which got bigger everytime it was told so i guess it's true ignorance is bliss lol these two guys are honest as they come & will take it like a man good or bad & i personally heard this story from the poor cheated guy & i did correct him on this.

redbones4me, your story about the teenager is the way everybody should go about these hunts. even if someone looses which most will several times before they win, if you are explaining what is happening as the hunt goes by this person will learn & come back !! i still remember my 1st registered hunt. my dog was crap & i had a plastic 6 volt light that i had to shake to get it to come on. i drew some guys that were real coon hunters with good dogs & i was scared to death cause i did not know these guys & i really didnt have a clue what was going to happen. they made me feel alot better & helped me through it. my 1st registered dog & i was excited. my dog got treed by his self, i was shocked & i think they were too !! & all of a sudden here come a pack of fox hounds run right over my dog. he stayed but here come a stragler fox hound & my dog fell in with them & before long was leading the pack. i still remember them saying boy that dog can really run a track !! this is the reason i go out of my way to help people on my cast. i still remember that feeling of maybe i dont belong here & the lost feeling of not knowing what to expect !! if i'd been with the wrong people i might have never hunted another registered hunt !! i still dont know if they helped me or ruined my life !! LOL
