It appears the "shoe thrower" had more in common with Obama and the Dem supporters than we realized.

If this country is that bad for you, go live over there.

I was proud of how he handled it. He stood up and looked him in the eye. Would have been really cool if he had caught both of them then gone over to the little pissant and whooped his fanny with them. Of course GW is a christian so he stood and turned the other cheek and went on as if it was nothing. Did you see him tell his security guy to stand down as that guy was trying to lead him out of the room or hide. Cool hand George. History will show how he led us well these last 8 years.

I agree with the smarter ones on here, I believe this was a very disgraceful thing that was done to our president. It is a slap in all Americans faces, we send our troops to free the people of Iraq, which most of the Iraqi people do actually appreciate. Then you have some dumba** that is using his freedoms we gave to him to do this type of stupidity with. I think GW is one and will show to be one of the best presidents we have ever had and I think his actions during this showed it even more. This repeorter could and should have been shot by security...case closed. This was a major security issue that could have been a deadly mistake by this reporter. My opinion he should be tried for an act of assination attempt. Even though GW wasn't hurt during this, what if he had been? Would everyone side with the reporter if one of the shoes had hit the President and possibly caused serious injury or death to our President? Probably not, everyone forgets when we were attacked on 9/11 and when we went to war with Iraq...Everyone was on ol'GW's side then weren't they. Well, some still are..He has protected our country very well..all should appreciate that!!!

as a member of the armed forces namely as a Seabee i find it down right sick that people on here think of this incident as a joke! as for those who do go right on ahead and try throwin a shoe at GW here on american soil and see what happens you'll swiftly be sent to a prison and hopefully bubba will make you his girlfriend. as for the iraqi that threw his shoes security shoulda taken action as ied's are commonly hidden in everyday things such as soccer balls toys strolles SHOES its still a hostile enviornment there and if one guy can get away with throwin a shoe at the president what do you think the real terrorist's see they see an opportunity and i'll be ****ed if that happens. i will not apologize for this lil rant i bleed red white and blue always have always will and if ya dont like it take yer tails over there and go stand on the front lines with our boys and then tell me how much you appreciate our great country

can see the history books in 50 years from now. WW3 started and 6 million people were killed because of a pair of shoe's. I aint saying the man was right in what he did, I aint saying he was wrong either judgement comes from God. I'm saying I understand the emotions behind what he did. This man was a reporter that reported the news, mostly civilian casualities. I understand he saw men, women and children blown to bits, that just wanted to go the store for a loaf of bread and ended up wrong place wrong time. He let his emotions get the best of him. Now he's facing about 10 years in jail. This aught to be a wake up lesson to all Americans at how the rest of the world views your President. At one time the USA was the most respected nation on the face of the earth. Thanks to your god gw bush, we are now viewed as ruthless killers by many.

Go ahead call me a communist terrorist socialist un-Amercian traditor usa hating fool all you like I could care less. Its typical of people who can't see passed their own nose and actually understand that there are billions of other people that have to live on this planet also.

And by the way, I still think its funny. Someone should have done it bushs first day in office and maybe we would'nt be in the shape we are today...

You're not backing out of that easy. You took enjoyment out of the act and there is no denying it. You are lower than what I shovel off the floor of my kennel. The media is now letting the people of this country know how insultive that act was. I'd like to meet you and spit in your face to see how you would feel about that. Why don't we meet at one of our big events and do this. I want to see if you are half the man our President was with the way he handled it. Of course you wouldn't. Then everyone would know who "Wingman 66" is. I belonged to a military unit that had a Presidential Protection Unit when he visited the base. There was a President or 2 that I didn't care for, but, I'm glad this didn't happen under my watch. No matter which one it was I might have gotten in a whole lot of trouble if it did. I apologize for that attitude. I guess I'm just a little too.......American.

Need to read again, not saying he was right or wrong. Just saying I understand the emotions behind it. So you want to spit in my face lol. So that makes you somehow better than me. You expect my reaction to be hateful? What do you do if I turn the other cheek and say do it on this side also? You're left standing there mad as a hornet while I walk off whistleing dixie...

You know 50 years ago if this would have happen it the headlines would have read American has been insulted, but now it reads America has a good laugh. YOU PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. We have men and women dying over there for our leader to be treated like this. I am insulted, my country, and MY PRESIDETN G.W. Bush. And you wonder what is wrong with this country. We are losing our patriotic pride, we are fogetting what makes this country great, and everyone thinks it is just a big joke. Well excuse me if I don't laugh. And to say that the reporter let his emotions get the best of him, please that is a absolute a retarded thing to say. Well I hope one of the true Americans over there fighting for that idiots rights don't let his emotions get the best of him and accidently drop a gernade in his lap. God bless all of you guys and girls on here that have been offended by this act of disrespect to our country and president. The rest of you guys need to quit trying to ride the fence and chose a side to stand on.

Well....Let me just say this. Did that country, Iraq, ASK to be saved???

Did they're people beg us to come over there and liberate them?

No they did not. The U.S. took it upon themselves to occupy their country and give them democracy and show them the error of their ways.

Those people have been killing each other for centuries and will continue to do so. Why does the U.S. continually feel the need to force others to be just like us?

We are not the worlds babysitter or bandaide. We've got problems of our own here that need to be attended to BEFORE we decide to "help" others.

I'm really tired of people complaining about Bush....calling Obama crooked etc. Ya'll aren't ever gonna be happy with whoever is in office so hush. Barack Obama has done more since he was elected then any other president BEFORE they took office.

Choosing sides

I chose my side long ago...............I'm with the USA and our President and always have been no matter who it is. This was a slap in ALL of American's faces and I am sickened by the attitude by a lot of people on this board. I would have been highly offended if this had happened to Bill Clinton and will be if it happens to Barrak Obama. Something like this should bring ALL AMERICANS together not divide us even further.

So I guess by your own thought process, we should have allowed Germany to take over Europe and wipe pout the entire Jewish race??

It is people like yourself that our founding father warned us about.

Wonderful question. The Kurds did ask us to come. That was after the Gulf War when we should have had the walnuts to have gone on to Baghdad and finished Saddam off. Instead we flinched and Saddam used weapons of mass destruction to kill thousands of Kurds. Does any of this come to your memory? Nerve gas that Saddam had and used without mercy. Nerve gas that the UN never found but there was no tracking of where it went. Did Saddam use it all up or toss it in the river? Maybe he took it out to a nice quiet spot in the desert or sent it by UPS to Syria? You folks think that taking Saddam down was totally about liberating Iraq, well it was more about taking out a rabid dog that had bitten and snarled to many times in a part of the world where there is a need for some predictability. Fundamentalist Islam is predictable, they want to rule the world. They will either convert you or find a way to kill you and be happy to do the latter first to cut down on mouths to feed.

believe that the president of the united states should always be treated with dignity and respect, do not agree with the war in iraq, but always support our president, just not all of his choices.... people in iraq as well as here have every right to express opinions, but do so in a proper manner... the lack of security procedures, both ours and those of iraq are a real concern... we should make every effort to eradicate terrorism, just do not believe Iraq was the right place to do that, course different issue now that we have been there for many yrs... hope we have a successful outcome there, but not sure that any one really knows what that might be....

You know I'm neither Dem or Rep, but it offended me no matter who it was. I did not vote for obama, but it would have been no different if it were him in my book. For anyone who can say it was funny...well, why don't you move to one of these counties and get the hel* out of mine because we have been fighting along time to have the freedoms we have. And for anyone who thinks acts like this regardless of which President doesn't deserve the freedoms our men and women have given to you. Patriotism is slowing fading away, and people need to understand what American really is, appreciate what it really means and say thank you! I am proud to be an American, you may not like it, you may not agree with everything we do, but I am free to do many things because the brave folks that gave me that freedom with their lives. Freedom is not free, it is earned...some should remember that on here!!!

I pretty much feel the same way...............................

I will respect our President..........whoever it is, I might not agree with them on everything.
There are several on here that if you do not agree with there way of thinking, then you are called everything in the book (not the good book).................

Just sit back and read, and you will soon figure out the ones that need some counseling.........LOL...........................Tim

Why was Saddam hiding when we found him if he did nothing wrong. He knew when he was caught the Iraqi's would sentence him to death for what he did to the people of Iraq for many years. They needed the help whether they will ever admit it or not or appreciate it.
