Dont like mountains, hills, thick swamps. My easy hunting in the Ms. Delta with all our snakes and gators sure has spoiled me.

Wow old thread brought back. I hate hunting swamps. Sank in mud up to my waist. Not sure if I would have gotten out if my friend wasn't with me. I did find out first hand that my old blue dog did not understand the term "PULL BOY......PULL"! He just liked being at eye level and licked my face.

Not the Mountains. I prefer the briars, swamp, and all.

That is the answer for me also. I live in the north west corner of the state. And hunt around Arkabutla lake most of the time but hunting the Mississippi Delta is like going on a coon hunting vacation for sure.

I haven't hunted the NC Swamps, they sound rough though. I hunt these Western NC mountains every night though. Climbing straight up a rock cliff through a laurel hell hole isn't much fun at all.

I live in Eastern NC and I love the swamps, briars and etc... We just hunted in Walker Days. I was so not use to the hills, straight up and straight down. I was spectating that night. I was so ready to have our dog scratched. I told my boyfriend he was gonna have to come back and get me. He told me to suck it up!! The next night I was suppose to hunt our dog. Learned my lesson!! Yes, I sat in the truck. I say lets hold Walker Days or the World Hunt in Eastern NC. LOL

lord help us all

I might be wrong but I'd say everybody has place even in Your own back yard u don't really wanna go but lets face it until I find a dog that can read posted signs or one that only trees house cats when you cutem chances are you going where you don't wanna go i live in the mnts in Nc and i thought swamp was the last thing id come across but wouldn't you know it there's a bowl bettween 4 ridges and a 2 acre swamp Bettween lol its never easy if you hunting a real coon dog and the harder it is to get to the dog the happy I get cause I'm sure there's a coon a dog don't go through hell to tree slick. I don't like swamps but I get wet long as the dogs right.
