i disagree, call your dog for what he does and play fair.

if you lose go home and put the necessary hunting or training in that your dog needs to be ready to win!

The good handlers with top dogs I give a lot of credit to with the time and effort, travel and preparation it takes to win. It,s the slick handler or cheater who pitches his dog in all night long, steals your tree, won't shine your tree or just plain ole won't see your coon unless somebody else finds it. I'm not a big time campaigner but I see and here this stuff all the time. There are a lot of dogs out there that finish out a lot quicker than they should. Most of the time the slick handler is handling a top dog because he hates to lose and doesn't care how he wins. I don't mean to ruffle anybodys feathers because there are a lot of honest handlers with dog power that do a lot of winning. In fact more than I will ever do. CONGRATS TO THEM!!!

if you don't breed for titles thats good because MOST OF THE TITLED DOGS aint the best in the woods. . . . . . . . but they and their handlers work good together. . . . . . . before you breed go hunting with the dog ALONE that tells you what kind of dog it is

yep, i agree with that last comment. Go hunting with all these nite champs and grand nite champs and tell that owner to TAKE THE TRAINING WHEELS OFF and turn that dog loose ALONE and with NO feeder buckets and just watch what happens.

Yes your wright there are dogs out there that nver been in a hunt that are something nice. These dogs with titles are not saying there the best just that they can tree a coon and are tring to better the breed.I say this because with a title you are saying your dog will tree a coon. With out the handler who is to say whos the best someone will have to tree the dog, strike the dog and see the coon.

My comments weren't ment to dampen the winning hound or handler because if I was ever to breed my female I would look for a winning hound that was a reproducer. Unless a registered dog had proven himself a reproducer and had a name to sell the puppies. The one thing a big winning hound means to me is stayput/splittree dog. That is if he did his winning honestly. Those with bad reputations or don't reproduce stay away from.

When it comes to what nitehunt titles prove, I'll say for sure they prove a couple things. It proves the dog will get treed and will stay treed. Can't be sure of anything else but those two things you can count on with a titled dog.
