Steve,

You sure got the small mouth bass there thou, Ive never caught so many any were else, we would park & camp under an old bridge by the river, just spend the day wading up stream catching bass & the nights cat fish, man was that the times,, And the view,,, blue mountains all around you, I'll have to get back there at least once more in my life time.

Well thats another thing we have lost, Our Fishing we have had real heavey Fish kills in both the North Fork and South Fork of the Shenandoah .. Their are still alot of real nice smallies on Smiths Creek here in New Market .. But back in the 80s it was great all over, you could wade 1/2 the Day a catch well over 100 fish, Small Mouth, Red Eye, Bluegill .. Very Sad and the DEQ have come up with nothing .. It starts a Fungus Sore on the fish..

Yep Bull Run would be a nice Spot also .. But now you would have to Run between Town Houses thou .. While looking on Google Earth theirs still some nice small Pockets on the Potomac that could be productive ..

But I would like run on the Main Base of Quantico, their are some Areas that I used to hunt Deer in that were Beaver Pond after Beaver Pond on Creeks that flow into Lake Lagunna .. I think their may be a Marine Corp. Gen. or 2 that Like to Coon Hunt..

Heck a Coup. Fiths of "Jack" used to get us into areas that were closed to hunting ...

Ofcourse Dennis is close to Ft. AP Hill also .. I Think He has some very Special places to hunt .. lol

Now You Got me rolling on the Floor !!!! True as the Day is Long !!! My First Date with a High School sweety !! We went out rt 50 (woops Rt 29) to where the it crosses the Bull Run "The old Stone Bridge" .. Well we were headed their to go "Skinny Dippin", we parked and walked south down Bull Run till we found a nice Pool.. Well about the Time we got in the water we had a swarm of Messketoes (sp) so large !! and they were eating us alive ... Alittle less than Romantic to say the least.. End up heading for the Drive-In Itchin all the way..

Had to check my High School Year book !! Summer of 1975, Gezz I'am getting Old ....

And That Area Still Looks Good ..

This Area Here Dumfries Bay was My own little Hunting and Fish Camp For Many years ... I had 2- Registered Duck Blinds for 10 years.. Spring had Bow Fishing "Gar" and Shad, Herring Dippin and "Monster Channel Cats"..
Alittle later the Carp would come in and you could Bow fish stright thru till Oct. when the Teel and Woodie Season would come in, then Deer and Coon and alttile Beaver Trapping.. Then General Duck/Goose Season.. Then Jan. Feb. for Sea Duck and the First Swan Hunt..

I first Found this Place doing a Study for NVCC on Chain Pickeral and found that only 200 yards of the whole system was perfect Enviroment for them...
