For those of you who feel abortion is a "right" think on this for a while. My youngest daughter had her firstborn at seven months and he's grown into a healthy five year old lad who will someday grow into a man who will pound knots on your head for talking so foolish. My friend has a grandaughter that was born at five months and two weeks. Look at her now and you'd never know it, she's a chubby teenager, but I can remember when she'd fit in the palm of your hand and in photos you could see her internal organs. Any nation that destroys their own children deserves destruction........... and they will get it.

Regardless of whether it's made illegal or not, abortions will still be proformed, period. I DO NOT & NEVER HAVE BELIEVED IN ABORTION! Go ahead, make it illegal, just like pot, cocaine, heroin, etc. It's all illegal, but you know it can be found anywhere & not hard to get. Making something illegal, won't stop it, is all I'm trying to say.

Hospitals will have to deal with botched jobs, permently scarred women, abandoned babies or babies left to die in garbage cans, because they are unwanted & women feel they had no other choice. I for one would feel SICK finding a dead or abandoned baby. I love my children, cherish them. Abortion is not an option for me or was it ever. But making it illegal, won't stop it & that, sorry to say, is the truth.

Legalized abortion is also causing women to have high risk for injury to their reproductive system, babies are being left to die after being aborted alive. Women are still having to deal with the after effects of having lost or chosen to end a pregnancy. Post abortion depression can be a significant problem for women years after the procedure. Your arguments for keeping it legal are based on the rhetoric that Planned Parenthood has been putting out for years. The coat hanger references are classic arguments for keeping it legal that keep being repeated. There is still a risk that having an abortion done in a clinic by trained medical staff will cause major and possibly life threatening bleeding, can cause tissue damage to the organs of the woman and can result in live delivery of an aborted child. All this is also tremendously hard on the doctors and nurses who work for the women's clinic where abortions are performed. Staff turnover is high. What if we took the tax $$ that get used to fund many abortions and used them to assist moms to carry their baby and let it be adopted? Maybe we could reduce the negative outcomes of trying to fix a broken situation by using a broken tool. I don't know to many folks who will say that abortion is a good or wonderful thing like ^^^^said that she doesn't like it. Maybe we should look at ways to fix what is wrong that leads to so many women using abortion to correct things that aren't working in their life. It is a complex issue but choosing to end a life to make your own better is just wrong.

I agree with you 100%. Yes, using that money to fund abortions to help educate women about adoption is a wonderful idea, that would have my vote 100%. I also think they need to look into making adoption more accessible to couples/singles who want a child very badly & can't have one. I know many women who have had abortions in the past & to this day regret their selfish decision to put their life ahead of an innocent childs. But, for all the medical help & education & things that could be available to these women, you can't tell me that some crack head would go & get this option or the 14 yr. old teenager afraid of what her parents will do to her, would choose this option. No, they would seek out other ways of ridding themselves of what they view as a 'problem'. Many herbs will cause abortion, then as said above, the old lady down the road for $200 & a clothes hanger & many ways to cause a child to abort, can be used. Heck, they are used still today & abortion is legal. You can't stop it, haven't been able to since the beginning of time. Legal or illegal, abortion will still be used & will still be a hotly debated subject, from now to the end of time.

This is still going to be a moral issue, no matter what. Let's keep in mind, we may never be able to stop abortion, BUT come judgement day with the Lord above. Those Drs., women, & anyone who helped make the abortion option real, will have to answer for it, it is pure, plain & simple murder & in God's eyes is WRONG!

I understand your position but to me the only legit use for abortion is to save the life of the mother which is parallel to self defense for your life. My wife had two different tubal pregnancies that we had to terminate. Those were hard to have to do but I need my wife to be here not dead. The folks who are living out of control lives or have been raped are certainly hard cases but the first group will not have a better life just by ducking the situation with an abortion and the cases of pregnancy by rape are the hardest to stand against. I do think that it is better that the woman carry that baby and find a place for it to be loved and raised. The trauma of rape is ugly but abortion is also an ugly answer to that hard situation. We do live in an often ugly and sinfilled world, gov't really doesn't give the best solutions for it. I think the gov'ts role is to maintain civil order, enhance the opportunities to make our way and defend the nation. To much hand holding by the gov't gives folks no reason to lead a moral life. Moral order is the role of religion and faith. Some faiths do better at teaching and encouraging that then others but in a secularized country we flounder like a boat with no sail or anchor in the ocean.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Obama seems to be to be someone who slips by moral choices easily by saying they are very personal and each person has to decide what is right for them and their situation. I don't agree with that but I think that is how he and lots of others believe. Moral relativism. Are you quoting my posts because you disagree or I don't state it clearly? I don't think we are so far off in our perspective but maybe I am missing something.

If anything WRANKLED me it was I kinda, sorta, agreed with Truly about something.

You didn't wrankle me, is that a word? And it is too late and too many days past to answer the question why I quoted your post. Because without looking over it again I can't answer it correctly. Will try to look at it when I get a little sleep. Peace.
