Redbones, well at least here in Texas, they just love Armidillos and not much else, English would trail for miles and miles without even treeing, and to be honest Ive never seen a Plott tree in my life. Im just gonna stick with Walkers.

This one is too easy. Why Walkers? That's what I say to my son when we're on our way home from a hunt................ right after he got spanked by my blues again.

I was just talking about my own experiences, with hounds other than Walkers, that I have personally owned.
When I switched to Walkers, it made all the difference in the world.
The Treeing Walker, is my choice, and Im going to stick with it.

i agree if i was a hide hunter or just a pleasure hunter i would have me a blue and a red dog....and a couple real good trashbreaking collars.

Well MikeO, you're right about one thing. I keep score with a rifle and I can't see a walker making it through the kill season alive hunting for me. When my dog trees I rack the slide.

everyone that hunts walkers just likes to go to trees and this time of the year its hard to prove what he is doing. thats why i hunt blues and black and tans because to me they are the most honest dogs and my brother hunts walkers and we may go to 5 trees a night and the only time we see a coon is at my dogs tree.

tell your brother to cull those walkers. cuz mine dont miss. I got a friend who says he sees more coons with his bright light ...WHAT...he hunts bluetick...The only thing I've everseen on my own is a deer running out of the woods and I walk in and there is a possum sitting on a branch lookin at me scared me half to death...I dont need to look in trees when Im following my dog cuz the coons ahead of em...of course I hunted the two I have before I bought em and the other ones ended up buzzard food bought on a mans word...Guess its all about the person what they like... That color ya like...mine everybody thinks is a big beagle...and coon hides on the smokehouse wall.

ive hunted blue, black, and english they all got good and bad in all of them....different strokes for different folks....i just prefer coon only type dogs ive done my chasing go yonder on whatever type hounds.....i learned i dont have the patience for that nonsense at all.....i only hunt one type of hound regardless of color....just so happens its a white one with spots right now.

HEy I know we all like what we own..duh. but WHY ARE THERE 7 PAGES OF WALKER STUD DOGS IN THE BLOODLINES BOOK? AND THE REPRODUCERS LISTS FOR WALKERS ARE OFF THE CHARTS COMPARED TO OTHER BREEDS?These dogs came from the same stock as others for the most part...maybe except plotts... I dont want to argue Im sure we all keep what makes us Happy....Thats a given no need to argue over the breeds ...Was looking for something about this group of houndsman and that group of houndsman...who really made sure nailor bred ( OR ANYOTHER CHAMP STUD)..these different lines or Heck did the old timers just breed anything that would stand for the ole champions....see what I'm sayin...Think I'm answerin my own question as I read all these responses... and strive to see it from other views on other sites also......dont wanna cause probs.

thats a good question family.....i would guess pretty much anything that would stand was bred to nailor, rat, maybe sackett jr but not near as much as nailor,rat.....why????....because they are so dominant....a guy bred his potlicker that couldnt tree a coon to rat and got a litter of tree dogs...word spread so on and so on....is that a bad thing???...i dont know but thats how it goes.

you have never ever seen a plot tree (lol)

i hunt plotts and blue dogs but i used to hunt walkers
but the walkers i had just didnt have the (lol) heart to do what i asked of them
just like every other breed them walkers slick treeed( just like plotts do) seen them walkers pi$$ and bellar on a track (just like a blue dog) even seen them walkers smoke a deer(just like a black dog) even seen them walkers tree off game (just like them red dogs)
but what the walkers i hunted didnt do was handle being corected they tucked there tails and where pouty for days
my point is you get out of a dog what you put in
i think the reason there are so many walker dogs out there is because everyone wants to win right now and dont care if there dog has holes
i have yet to see a complete dog in any breed not saying that there isnt one

(ONE REASON THERE ARE SO MANY WALKERS IS CAUSE FEMALES ARE STILL BEING BACKED UNDER THEM MALE DOGS) sorry just trying to be funny
