UPDATE

http://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/2934524/

2 more cobras loose in NC....animal rights groups are suspected of releasing the snakes to gain support for a ban on exotic pets.

I've seen some pretty big spiders around here. Once I saw a huge one on the side of a rock while fishing, it was eating a minnow. Very large, hairy spider. Once I was coonhunting and was just standing there leaning against a tree...and HEARD a spider walking through the leaves before I saw it. That thing was HUGE. I moved a few trees down, figured I'd get out of his way. During the summer we have a large spider in fields and standing corn..real big with big webs, kinda pretty...black and yellow markings. Real good size, I dont mess with them and always hope i dont go walking through a web and get a spider in the face some night! Yuck!

Wise acre! We're still gonna come up and hunt with you... I actually love to see the corn spiders AND...AS LONG as I"M smart and let you FINE taller Gentlemen walk in FRONT of me in the woods.... I'm fine!
Stop talking about the BEARS too... I bet pretty soon you'll have seen GATORS....
Heck, Mike... if you want to scare me AND Bob away... just tell us our darned teen boys are out there...LOL... we'll stay FAR away!

Happy Hunting! Give the mutts a pat from us and tell them to get in shape for me! Heather

Is that what they're called..corn spiders? makes sense since they're usually around corn or hayfields. You two are welcome anytime, I just sprayed bear repellent and we'll let Bob walk first so he knocks all the spiders out of the way LOL. It's been spotty, very clear the females are denned up with new kittens and living off fat reserves. I havent been out much, got a bumb elbow...getting a shot of pain killer and steriods next week, doc say's I'll be as good as new soon. Sux getting old, can hardly handle the saw and be able to close my right hand afterward but with oil prices these days I'm ramping up the wood. Going tonight no matter even if I have to hold the leash with my teeth!! haha. We should plan an evening sometime soon to hit a few places and see what the dogs can put up.

Not sure if they're REALLY called corn spiders but where we used to hunt thru the corn...that's what we called em... Beautiful spiders... and the webs are cool..just don't want one CRAWLING on me! LOL... I'd faint... I figure you can just wrastle the bears....LOL... and getting old surely sux... man my neck is getting such arthritis...funny what a little bitty truck accident can do to accelerate the aging Bob's got 2 bum elbows... he's done the shots... it helps... not forever but it will be good for a while.
I'd say best bet to get up there will be after father's day if that works for you...cause we're supposed to go that weekend to BIKE WEEK in Laconia...LOL... Lord Help me I am too old to deal with that crowd... so... I want to be able to ride on the bike one SHORT slow ride up there...and need to try not to mes up the spine before then...I REALLY wanna go once for Bob... BUT... after that I can go sliding around the woods...LOL... falling, smacking into stuff... running from bears.... SO... let me know if that'll work out for ya??? It may be stupid for me to think we have to wait ttill after but I'm paranoid about messing up the NH trip. HE never gets to do stuff for HIM... and he needs some Bob time

hate to turn this into a spider thread but...since it's headed that way. Was cutting wood today off a pile I had stacked up to dry in 4 foot lengths. Had a huge spider come running out right by my bar. Very large, mottled cray hairy sucker. You could very easily see 2 black fangs curled under his face...he looked at me like I owed him money! I called Robin out to look at this thing, she ran inside yelling dont ever call me for something like that again. I was gonna offer him a beer but he didn't look thirsty, so I swashed him with my boot instead. I flung him onto the ground..the chickens had a nice feast. That was a biggy, never seen one colored like that. Grey and black mottled color. Wish I new more about spiders, they just dont last long enough around here for me to study. Seems like there's more large spiders around these days, than when I was a youngster anyways.

I HATE YOU...LOL.. I will have nightmares.... I actually have a couple pix hanging still on the tack room wall of "Wolfie" the spider who lived in a hole in the wall and used to scare the daylights out of all of us Silly Women at the barn.... When it stopped showing up we all FREAKED out cause we were sure it had taken up a home on one of our boots, a grain can etc.... I guess I've scared a few people with the pix I will admit I've taken some pix of some then had them move in my direction and become as flat as their pix
GROSS I HATE THEM! My chix don't like to eat them much.... Darn It!
I Think I'm the dimwit that turned it into a spider thread. At least BlueDog Man hasn't been posting spider pix LOL.....
Nightmares.....
