PURINA PRO PLAN........a friend of mine suggested it. he raises and trains bird dogs for a living and they are wound up all the time. if u expect the best out of them u need to feed them the best.

you cant compare bird dogs to coon dogs. Purina is by far THE WORST feed i have ever delt with. Over the last two weeks we have had some real bad weather so i havent been able to hunt my dog at all. I started feeding him the purina one and litterally watched him drop weight. Theres so much by product in it that theres hardly nothing for them to digest in it, he was crapin out whole pieces of dog food.

I have fed Purina One 26/16 for years both summer and winter without any problems like some of you describe....I think there are other factors that may be causing some of your problems...Parasites,type of kennel your using for housing your hounds, cleanliness of dog yard and house, how often to you bathe your hounds.. I just don't believe dog food alone is causing these problems even the cheap stuff....
