Allen,

I'm right there with you on JiM's proposal, but how do you "back it up"? It also does not address the issue where there are five entries, and one cast ends up being a two dog cast.

Maybe the breed associations will see the light of requirement to stay with a cast if you scratch or withdraw if the club is required to have folks act as non hunting cast members....

Todd,

It seems that the assumption here is that folks are "cheating". Yes, that exists, folks go blind...therer are so many ways to be dishonorable...and they could all happen on a four dog cast as well. This is not as much about cheating as it is leveling the playing field.

Maybe the answer is NOT a non-hunting judge, maybe its merely a third cast member that is not hunting...a third vote in a two dog race.

I might add that it seems that for the past couple of years, the only two dog casts I see are for Grand Nights ad sectionals.....don't know why, but it happens...twice int he past two years.

My question to UKC is with the performance program aging, has the number of Grand Night Champion entries increased, and would this lead to an increase in two dog casts?

SCBluetickgirl,

Numbers don't lie!

Looks like 66% of the respondents of the poll think that two dog casts are a bad idea....I'd bet that getting 2/3 of the breed assocaitions to agree on a rule change wont be nearly as easy!
