Yes Kodak is still here. When I was hired in 1982 we had almost 65,000 people employed, now it is less than 20,000. Right now most jobs lost are going to Mexico or China, cheaper labor. Management here at Kodak thought Walmart was terrible when they chose Fugi over Kodak as a main photo supplier and screamed about supporting American workers, now they are sending jobs out of the country. We are not Union. They tried to get Unionized a few years back but that got squashed fast. Digital is taking a big chunk of the traditional silver halide technology (35mm). Motion Picture, Dental, Paper, and printers are doing well. We all realize you have to change to survive, just sad to see good hard working loyal people with over 20 years service get let go before they can get their full retirement.

Getting out with the dogs is the best way to reduce work stress I know!

We have been getting a lot of rain lately, been out and got real wet quite a few times the past few weeks.

I work at Kodak Park in Rochester. It is several miles long over 600 buildings.
Elmgrove Plant closed and sold, there is also Kodak Office downtown. I drive 50 miles each way to work with my wife.

My Grandfather worked for International Harvestor somewhere in NY, I remember my Grandma saying that. He was a spray painter.
He passed away at age 84 in 1984. I still have a picture of him and his blue dog and a coon he shot from the 50's. He called the dog old Thor. He was quite a rabbitt hunter too and a storyteller. He said years ago whitetail deer were scarce in NY, not like today. If not for my Grandpa taking me to the woods I would not be a hunter today. Grandma said years ago she canned all their meat to get thru the winter months and Grandma made dog food from baking cornbred with scrap meat, fat, and gravy. She would skin my Grandpa's pheasants, dry them with Borax and display on the wall. Grandma would prepare and cook everything Grandpa shot. How many women today would do the same. Grandma cooked me up some young woodchucks too when I used to visit with them as a teenager and hunted chucks with a 22 rifle inthe summer months. Grandpa and I also loved frog legs.I remember retreiving frogs from the swampy water and Grandpa picking the blood suckers off my feet and legs. Grandpa would pick wild leeks in the spring and eat them with Liberger cheese - whew!! Great memories! See, when you mentioned International Harvestor it brought back all those memories.

Gayle, Engman

Your thoughts remind me of all the scare when we were about to start the year 2000. All my brothers-in-law said if anything happened they were moving out to my place cause I could protect and feed them, LOL!!!

Our society has become dependant on Tops and McDonalds. I get a little flack at work but once people get to know me they are cool. I have all kinds of hunting pictures on my office cubicle wall and so far nobody has complained. The other office I was in, I had a nice 8 point whitetail deer skull and rack I bleached and had sitting on top of my desk plus some sheds I found I use as paper weights. I had a couple people tell me that wasn't too cool, but I pointed out other people had trophies and awards at their desks, this was my trophy. So they stayed.

I grow a big garden too, last night picked salad greens, spinach,
beet greens, green peppers, and dug a few early red potatoes and the wife and I had a wonderfull dinner. Shuld have fried up some green tomatoes too, mine not quite ripe yet, we got our gardens in late around here this year. This morning two does were in the garden when wife and I left for work, they are enjoying my salad greens but leave enough for me. I'm fattening them up for bow season LOL.

You know I have eaten deer, bear, elk, moose, rabbitt, squirrel, woodchuck, turtle soup...but never ate a coon. I guess I have skinned so many of those greasy ringtails it never was appealing to me, but if I needed meat I'm sure I could par boil one and roast it. I sure get a lot of requests to bring them into work from my African American co-workers. Well enough rambling on, talk later.

I saw your pup add you mentioned, tht is a good price on your pups, I need to check them out.

I knew your name and kennel rang a bell, I went back and I found your add in the 2001 English Yearbook. You have a pic of Nt. Lite On Fire, Dolly, and four pups out of them. From the picture you look like the youngan of the group, that is good you choose good "older" company LOL!

I don't have any of your breeding in my dogs. My dogs all have Rooster, Wilcox, Oney, Raffles, Speck, and Blue Grass Amos blood.

I am looking forward to meeting you. I assume that is you holding Fire in the add with the beard. Now I know who to look for at Oaks. I'll have no trouble finding Gayle, he always draws a crowd! Talk with you later!
