Suck it UP

You know I've read this thread and it keeps coming to my mind something that no one has said yet.

If the guy was the judge of the cast he obviously was supposed to know the rules and requirements for having the job of judge. From the very first hunt a person ever goes on it is drilled into your head to sign the card when the hunt is over. Just like learning your ABC's, no one should ever forget that part of the hunt is initialing the card at the end of the hunt.

So my question to this particular handler is this: Why didn't you initial the danged card? Was it just an oversight on that handlers part?

And finally:

The rules are the rules. They are there for a reason and we MUST follow them. Use the incident as a learning experience so that it does not happen again. Is this the first time something like this has happened? I sincerely doubt it. But from this point on it should never happen again to another handler that has read this thread or the discussion between us at hunts on this subject. Mr. Freeman, thankyou for enlightening the rest of us on the matter so that this does not happen to another person.

seems to me the scorecard could be changed by ukc at any time.or is this policy out of date?

Dave, that sounds like a bad deal. These rules are not as rigid as they're made out to be, but unfortunately we sometimes have to rely on MOH's to do the right thing. Its too bad the right thing wasn't done this time.

I don't know what this MOH's problem was but I hope the club doesn't use him again.

Whats this I hear about you stealing all our rain? We are burnt to a crisp, I haven't seen it this dry since 1980. The easiest walking is right down the middle of the creekbeds.

JOHN I ONLY GOT AN INCH AND A HALF. SOME GUYS AROUND HAVE GOT UP TO FIVE INCHS. IT IS DRY HERE BUT I'M IN BETTER SHAPE THAN ALOT OF OTHER GUYS. YOU GONNA HUNT AT CLINTON THIS WEEKEND? JIM I THINK IT WAS JUST AN OVERSITE ON THE HANDLERS PART. I BET IT NEVER HAPPENS IN A CAST I'VE GOT WON. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN BAD TO DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING ANYWAY. IT WAS JUST A LESSON FROM THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS. I JUST HOPE THE GUYS KEEP COMING TO THE HUNTS AND DON'T QUIT BECAUSE OF IT.

Dave, I don't think we had any rain in July, driest one on record for Kansas City. Our corn is burnt, some late corn has no ears on the stalk at all.

I might wonder down to Clinton on Friday night, or I might stay home and do some pup hunting. It depends on how the mood strikes me. Are you going both nights?

When I win a cast which isn't very often, I will check time, scores, etc. multiple times and will even carry the card back to the clubhouse, if the judge will let me.

Dave is afraid that he would draw me Saturday night. That is why he is undecided .

I will be there but not for sure if I am hunting. Have some guys coming down this weekend to hunt with Luke and Foggy Man. I will be there to at least pick up a pup. If those guys want to spectate with me, I will be hunting. By the way, I want all of you if we draw out. Bring your best!
