youth

You always learn more by trying to beat those that are better than you, not by beating those you should beat.

THAT statement right there is why people quit the hunts you are not out there to beat the other person. Your dog is there to compete against the other dogs most people will give kids a break but it only takes a few to screw a kid and they remember that forever. It would not be that hard to have youth cast at a hunt weather they are opens, nitech,or grnites the cast would have to hunt under Nitech rules.

Well now if that aint contradiction I dont know what is. I hunt PKC hunts all the time. The only time I have ever seen a youth cast put together is at major events. Yes u can have one at any open hunt, just havent ever seen one. They do great without having to be seperated anyway. If it is suppose to be all about the dog like u say it is Jack Bingham, then tell me why the youth should be seperated into a special cast? After all its not about the handler, its about one dog besting another dog, right? Or do u really believe that?

If some of you think the youth are at a disadvantage hunting against adults, you need to go to somw of these open PKC events and try to beat these youth in the woods. You'll think differently. On second thought, maybe youth casts should be drawn. So that the adult handlers are not at a disadvantage!
