terry porter, osu fans, and miami haters are the only people in america who think there was a penalty on that play, least of which was PI.

if hawaii or kansas wins thier bowl game, they deserve a share of the national title

First of all, if you think that there wasn't at least one penalty on that play that would have resulted in a first down for the Bucks, you're blind.

Second, Keith Jackson is a homer.

Third. You said "stole from US." I didn't know YOU played for the 2002 Cryami team.

first off buddy, it wasnt keith jackson that was saying bad call, and 2nd, just how many penalties do you think were on that play and how did the ref in the best posiiton miss them ALL? you get contact for 5 yards so now holding, there was no PI, and come one with a face mask call. regardless the call made was PI and it was complete BS. and why didnt gambel just catch the ball?

and yes i said "us", its a cane thing you cant understand.

Kansas or Hawaii??? Lets take a look at their schedule. How many SEC teams did they play? And which ones. The only reason LSU or Georgia or several of the other SEC teams wont get a chance at the National Championship is because they have to play other SEC teams during the season. The only 2 teams LSU or Georgia lost to were SEC teams. Take Alabama for example. They had to play, Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia, and Auburn. Lets see if Ohio State, Kansas, or Hawaii can match that schedule. Not even close. Any of the top 5 SEC teams could beat any of those 3.

Look at how many SEC teams are going to bowl games every year. Take the 12 SEC teams and match them up on the field with pads against any conference in the land and the beatings will be severe. #1 in the SEC vs. #1 in the Big 10 and so on down the list until its Vandy vs. the last place team in the Big 10

so you have to play a sec team to be deserving of the natl title, lol at the arroigance. and just what great non sec teams did uga beat. most of the time sec schools dont loose to non sec schools is becuase they typically dont play any good non conf games. lsu did have a good win over vatech.

btw, boise st proved the big boys can be beat.

rance it is not arrogance it is fact. After the dust has settled in Jan. just look and see how many of the 9 thats right 9 SEC teams loose their bowl games that they will be playing against other conferences. Last year I think they only lost 1 and played in 7. The SEC has the highest bowl win record(all bowl games counted not just the BCS) than any other conference. That it is why people say the SEC is the toughest conference, they beat the teams in other conferences when they play them the majority of the time. This year the SEC teams played 37 out of conference games and only lost 5 you do the math and compare the other conference teams out of conference record. The Big 10 is second in % of games won out of conference. No one is safe in the SEC, you can be beat by any given team on any given Sat, The conference is just that tough.

You can laugh at the arrogance if you want. Just because it's arrogant dont mean it's not the truth. And yes i am saying that. The last few years have proved it. Everybody talked about how Ohio State was invincible last year. Some commentaters on ESPN were stupid enuff to say they couldnt be beat. Then they lined up against a SEC team. Florida. If it had been a fist fight, Ohio States mother wouldnt have been able to recognize them. It was brutal. They finally played somebody worthwhile and got drilled. Preseason rankings are set up just for weak ass conferences like that. Rank a team like Ohio State, Oklahoma, Usc #1 before the season starts. They have a weak ass schedule, get by that weak schedule unbeaten , go to a NC game and get their ass beat to death by Florida or LSU or somebody that really deserved to be there. Rance, you said it urself. Georgia didnt beat any great non-conference teams because there aint any. SEC is by a landslide the toughest conference there is. Until you realize that, you will be ignorant about football. Best thing is to shut up and not let that ignorance out for others to witness

Play off, play off, play off! Oh did I say Play off. Settle it on the field where it needs to be. SEC is the toughest conference peroid! i'm a Hokie fan but I knew going into that LSU game we were going to get hammered, but if they both played now and both were healthy I think it would be a closer game . As far as Ohio State not being able to hang with LSU, well that what I would think but after all the upsets, #1'S, and #2's getting beat, I don't think I'll wager any $$$ on anything. Oh did I say playoff!!!!

I don't want to listen to this crap until Jan 7th. My feelings are you have to win your conference championship (if you have one) and no 2 loss team should be in the national championship game, but the way it played out this year there is no choice. Kansas didn't win the conference championship game, they didn't even get in. The only other two possible choices, besides LSU, in my opinion were Oklahoma or VA Tech. Oklahoma's losses were on the road and close, besides they destroyed the No. 1 team in the country in their conference championship game. The two Va Tech losses were to quality opponents and they avenged one loss in the conference championship game. West Va, no way, you lose to S. Florida on the road and Pitt at home, you're out. USC, nope, you lose to Stanford at home, bye bye. LSU lost to perennial bottom feeder Kentucky and yet everybody with a cajun drawl bows at their feet pointing fingers and blaming this or that. I don't care about injuries or key players being out, everybody has to deal with that, it's a team sport. If Pat White doesn't get hurt maybe WVU beats Pitt and and LSU is on the outside looking in. There is all kinds of maybes, those don't matter. Ohio State deserves to be there. Their only loss was a tough one to probably the most underrated team in the country and definitely the best 3 loss team in the country. Illinois would take it to a large number of the best SEC teams. In a year like this the strength of schedule formula has as many flaws as the BCS formula. I don't know how you can figure out who's better than who in the SEC when anybody can beat anybody (LSU beat SC, SC beats Kentucky, and Kentucky beats LSU). Bottom line Ohio State is the only choice for No. 1, but there are several arguments for No. 2. I don't know if Ohio State IS the best team in the country , but they deserve the ranking.

Jim

gfults since you told me the best thing for me to do, let me tell you you just need to go away plan that me and you need to go out of our way to meet up sooner than later. wether your 4 foot or 7 foot, inperson or on the compueter, no one is going to talk to me like that wihtout one of us carrying a but whipping.

now that that is out of the way, why dont your ignorant self show me where I said that the SEC WASNT the best conference most years? if you can do that, then i will apologize and admit my ignorant ways. if not, please then explain why you have to put words into my mouth to have a football discussion.

i took exception to you saying that the ONLY good football teams are in the SEC and that you have to beat a SEC team to be a worthy natl champ. that is jsut ludicrous.

as far as non conference records, that tells a very small part of the story when you just look at the records only. MOST sec teams play a weak nonconf scheduel to compensate for their tough in conf scheduel. just look at uga's non conf schedule the last 7-8 years. same with the overall bowl record, sometimes it doesnt tell the whole story because you have some very unequal bowl matchups.

btw, the worse natl title whipping i have ever witnessed, was a "mighty" sec team getting bent over by nebraska.

I am a fan of SEC football, but...BUT...the way they all beat up on each other this year COULD and I stress COULD be a sign that rather than them all being really great they were all just kinda good...It's just a hunch I have, but it would not surprise me to see OSU win the title game this year---this year's LSU is NOT last year's Gators, imo...

... as wacky as this year's season has been I'm not sold on ANYBODY being a clear-cut favorite in anything LOL...

PW, i agree with you. its not a far stretch that lsu might actually be the 3rd best team in their own conference at this point in the year. uga is a very hot football team. but the loss to south carolina wasnt because south carolina is a good team, uga just wasnt playing good football at that time. and thats where bowl games get tricky when you have a ton of layoff time, you can come in very flat while the other team comes in hitting on all cylinders. i think that was the case last year and in alot of other natl title games in the past. with that being said, i definetly think uf was the better team, just not as much as the score indicated. just look in the 96 natl title game, fsu beats uf the last game of the year then florida turns around and finds a way to get into the natl time blows fsu out

I'd take him............He's the best QB TN has had since Manning left.

Ainge has a higher completion rate than Manning had at TN.
Ainge only 2 has more INT's than Manning had at TN.

And don't forget Ainge got hurt in 2005 missed part of the season.

I'd take him in a heart beat............Aigne has been a cosistance QB through his career at TN. Of course he has had his share of bad games, what QB hasn't.

I am concerned where the VOLS go next year without Aigne at QB.

rance,

Thanks, but I don't know what the hell you're talking about. If that was similar to a previous post my bad, but I couldn't bring myself to read the entire thread. Just my opinion, and the way it sounds at least one other person and I see eye to eye.
