My feelings are you have to win your conference championship (if you have one) and no 2 loss team should be in the national championship game, but the way it played out this year there is no choice. Kansas didn't win the conference championship game, they didn't even get in. The only other two possible choices, besides LSU, in my opinion were Oklahoma or VA Tech. Oklahoma's losses were on the road and close, besides they destroyed the No. 1 team in the country in their conference championship game. The two Va Tech losses were to quality opponents and they avenged one loss in the conference championship game. West Va, no way, you lose to S. Florida on the road and Pitt at home, you're out. USC, nope, you lose to Stanford at home, bye bye. LSU lost to perennial bottom feeder Kentucky and yet everybody with a cajun drawl bows at their feet pointing fingers and blaming this or that. I don't care about injuries or key players being out, everybody has to deal with that, it's a team sport. If Pat White doesn't get hurt maybe WVU beats Pitt and and LSU is on the outside looking in. There is all kinds of maybes, those don't matter. Ohio State deserves to be there. Their only loss was a tough one to probably the most underrated team in the country and definitely the best 3 loss team in the country. Illinois would take it to a large number of the best SEC teams. In a year like this the strength of schedule formula has as many flaws as the BCS formula. I don't know how you can figure out who's better than who in the SEC when anybody can beat anybody (LSU beat SC, SC beats Kentucky, and Kentucky beats LSU). Bottom line Ohio State is the only choice for No. 1, but there are several arguments for No. 2. I don't know if Ohio State IS the best team in the country , but they deserve the ranking.
