don't be fussy, eat anything that don't eat you first. people in england would hang ducks off a clothes line by there beak. when the beak started to separate from the skull they were ready to eat...naturally cured LOL coon will tantilize your taste buds....i have ate coon that was very good, but i have also had some i couldn't swallow. it depends on the cook..

The Best way to prepare a coon

Take the old coon and dress him out put him in a pressure cooker and cook him for about 15-20 min. Then take him out put him in a roasting pan with some taters, carrots onions, bell peppers, corn, green beans and what ever vegtibales you really like. Cook that old coon for about 45min on 375* pull him out of the oven and then....

(THROW THE STINKIN COON AWAY AND EAT THE VEGTABLES)LOL......

I know of a fur buyer who sells 3000-4000 carcasses per year. They go to Louisiana 800 each trip in a livestock trailer froze hard as a rock.

Anything is rough if you just throw it in the skillet. You find someone who REALLY knows how to cook a coon, and you'll be surprised at how good a coon is. However I intend to cook the ones I kill, not someone else's. We used to eat squirrel gravy for breakfast.
