Eric

Stinger is bred to the Gambler dog.
Stinger is from Whiplash&Black Jack
Gambler is from Hawk&Blitz

Gambler at 8mths

I think this will be a great cross.

Gambler

Jess, this is a fine looking hound. Don't get much better looking than this one.
I enjoyed talking with you the other evening. In our conversation you mentioned a female. Would you have a photo of her? Also was wondering how she is bred.

I know you must be looking forward to your trip up north.

This may not be the right thread, but I read something the other day about Midwest Lightfoot Hawk...

I had a couple of pups out of him back around 1990 or thereabouts. Good looking hounds with good mouths.

They were a little late starting, and I gave up on them too quick. They both went on to make top hounds after I got rid of them.

Was that common for his pups, or did I just get the odd pair?

I realize the female line has something to do with this too.

John&O.L.

O.L.
The female I spoke with you about is a littermate to Gambler. I will try to get a good pic on here I just need to take one. About every pup from the Hawk&Blitz cross looked alike. Here is a pic of Brian's Full Throttle dog with Brent's Robin female both littermates to Hawk. Both Very Nice.

John
I never knew much about the midwest Hawk dog. I have hunted with several finished dogs out of Hawk that were nice dogs. Like most Light Foot dogs I don't think Hawk sired very many pups. Most of the pups I raise start early and just make steady progress. But any one pup could do anything<lol>

I was younger and probably dumber when I had that pair of pups, and I just quit on them too quick.

The male was a beautiful hound with a million dollar mouth, and smart as a whip.

He just didn't fire like I thought he ought to. I let him go when he was about 13 months old.

He was coon crazy and a vicious kill dog, but wouldn't hunt, wouldn't run a track, and wouldn't tree except on a hang up.

He took off a little while after I got rid of him, and was a natural. he went from nothing to a coon dog in a very short time. Strange.

Nice Dawg BamaBill!

She's a Brute! Love the face. Also she is Really Brindle! Nice to see...it gets so lost as the dogs are built for showing....

Very nice. Great to have one reproduce. Gotta be mighty tough for hog dogs! Those things are SCARY!

HappyHUnting! Heather

PS... Gotta have one that color named Rootbeer...

Not yet ...

Jess he hasn't made it yet, supposed to come down in Febuary if he's able to, if not I guess I'll see him at Plott days. He did know you an the guy you mentioned said to watch out them calico dogs would make ya swap over. LOL Dogmen .. I think I heard that phrase?? High praise from Mr. Jim I would think?
That Gambler dog would have made a fine hog dog, he ain't got no fear in them eyes his expression looks very self assurd.

Have fun with Jim, I enjoyed every hunt I went on with Jim. There are some really good Plott dogs in that area. With people like Jim Cannon, Roy Howell, Gil Raney,Rex Morgen and a whole bunch of good hunters all hunting the same breed you just get tough hounds. If you diddn't have a tough hound you diddn't want to go with those boys.

Man Jess,
I had her good and started for you on lions before you came and picked her up. You've only had her a couple weeks and you already have her trashed out and treeing oranges. LOL. Well at least I hope your teaching her how to pick out the ripe ones. I think she's trying to tell you she wants you to make her some fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast.

If the Big Biz&Toll Box cross works out like we are hoping it will I may end up sending Razor up for a visit after she has proven herself in the woods.

Hey Jess!

How are things in the warm South!!!!!!

We are SNOWED in my backyard with all the pine trees looks like some of those pictures you post from your lion hunts. Shoveled my whole driveway three times yesterday and again this morning, got to go dig my neighbor out then dig the kennels out.

Sure am excited about that Lightfoot/Toolbox cross I know you are waitin on your girl to come in. When my Thunder Sue comes in I will be visiting Randy and Luke, so I am doing the same waiting and watching.

Love to see those pup videos that older video I have seen some years ago, I just love the looks and actions of that Razor pup! Keep warm Jess, hey will you make it to English Days this year?

Doug

I am not sure about English days. It's been several years since I have attended. I have been talking with Dustin about him flying back east for one of the larger hunts English days or the Autumn Oak If I can get Dustin to fly back I will pick him up and be there..
Light Foot Tack <grand lake tack> was the pup in the older video. I had a hard time choosing between Tack and Dick <litter-mates> Both were nice. I kept Dick because he had a better mouth. Both dogs turned out to be Strong reproducers and both had impact on Hunters around the country even though
combined they only produced around 30 pups. I was working on getting the Light Foot Video made for you when I came across that Video of Tack.

Here is a pic of Light Foot Dick

Still At It!

Jess,
What's up! I see you are still putting out those young dogs that are getting it done. The Razor dog sounds just like those pups from years ago like Dick, Susie, Rebel Star, and so on. After all these years I'm still trying to make mine better also. Just this week I bred a solid little bitch from the cross we made on old RedMan and Ruby. She is by my old Rex dog. Does the Razor pup go back to that cross? What do you have that does. Send me some info on where some are.

Thanks Man,
Brad Hinton

Brad

I will always remember that 1st weekend that we hunted. I wanted a pup out of Red Bird and your Annie female BAAAAAD !!!
As far a the Red-Man & Ruby cross I think that it was one of the very Best multi generational cross's ever in The English Breed. Not only did we get some really Good hounds in that litter, But all that I know of were Good reproducers themselves. That ability to reproduce has past on into the 3rd and 4th generations. That's what happens when you breed Not only Good dogs But Good Families of dogs. Over half of the dogs that Dustin and I have today go back to the Redman & Ruby cross. Razor carries that cross twice in her 3 generation pedigree.
Is the female out of Rex the Blue Bird dog ?? I know that Blue Bird sure made a good impression on them boys up north. If that is Blue Bird what did you breed her to ??
