One thing I have learned this year while attending some of these events., big and small. Is that the northern boys (& girls) can knock em back just as good as us good ole red neck hillbillies down here in the GOOD OLE SOUTHERN US OF A.

Just to set the record straight, I do not drink. So maybe you don't either. Good for us. Rules are rules, and I am sure this person if found guilty will be punished. But to generalize a culture of any area because of this incident was just uncalled for.

Just want to add, I can't wait till Automn Oaks, so we can visit with some of you good ole boys(& girls) we have met from up, way up north. They were a HOOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We as Judges and other cast members need to follow and enforce the rules no exceceptions. WHAT IFS cause a lot on good hunts to go bad. KNOW THE RULES AND STICK TO THEM jmo

 LMBO..

...this North South stuff kills me! I happen to be Born and raised in the Boston MA area...but I happen to be a direct relative of Robert E Lee... and greatgreat...... grand daughter of Martha Custis Washington with a father who grew up in MD. That said... my mother is 100% Greek...LOL... she's the only one of her family borne in the USofA.... WHO CARES?

Drinking... follow the rules PERIOD. Most of us, as humans, dont follow every rule there is... I sure try. This seems like a kinda big one... since breaking the law is...wrong. That's all I have to say about this since I'm not even remotely intoersted in competition, unless my friends or my dawgs are competing.

NOW- BACK to North South... watch out... divide and Conquer... we ALL need to work together to keep this sport alive and keep the coonhounds true to their roots...

Well, Gotta go fight with myself now... I'm not sure which Side I should be on! LOL....

SO....WHO ARE YOU? BRIAN GILLEY OR JEREMIAH GLAZE?

WELL, WHOEVER. CELL PHONE USE IS OKAY AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT CALLING BETWEEN ANOTHER CAST AND DISCUSSING SCORES.

LET ME ASK YOU THIS, SAY A MEMBER OF YOUR CAST IS A SINGLE FATHER/MOTHER AND HIS/HER SON/DAUGHTER IS STAYING WITH A BABYSITTER. SAY DURING THE HUNT THAT BABYSITTER CALLS THAT PERSON TO TELL THEM THAT THEIR SON/DAUGHTER FELL DOWN AND BUSTED IT'S LIP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. SOMETHING THAT THEY SHOULD KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENED, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM HAVE TO COME RUSHING ON HOME.

ARE YOU GOING TO SCRATCH THAT MEMBER OF THE CAST FOR TAKING THE CALL THAT COULD HAVE VERY WELL BEEN AN EMERGENCY?

IF SO, I HOPE WE DRAW OUT WITH YOU AT A HUNT AND YOUR PHONE RINGS.

THERE ARE SOMETHINGS CALLED COMMON RESPECT BETWEEN HUNTERS.

SOMETIMES YOU GIVE PEOPLE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. THEN IF THINGS ESCALATE YOU GO FROM THERE.

IT'S COMMON COURTESY. THOSE GUYS HAD NEVER EVEN BEEN TO A HUNT BEFORE. THEY DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE BEER, AND YES, THEY WERE SCRATCHED AND THEY WENT BACK TO THE CLUB HOUSE AND HAD A VERY EXTENSIVE TALK WITH THE MASTER OF HOUNDS. IT BEING THEIR FIRST HUNT, THEY WERE WARNED THAT IF THEY WERE EVER CAUGHT WITH IT AGAIN THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT UKC ABOUT IT.

I THINK IT WAS HANDLED WELL. AND THE GUYS WERENT OFFENDED ENOUGHT BY "A BAD EXPEREINCE ON THE FIRST NITE HUNT I WAS EVER ON SO I'LL NEVER BE BACK TO ANTOTHER ONE" THAT WE'VE SEEN THEM AT SEVERAL HUNTS SINCE.

THEY HAD NO HARD FEELINGS, NEITHER DO US OR THE MOH. IT WAS BETTER HANDLED THE WAY IT WAS FOR SOMEONE WHO MADE AN HONEST MISTAKE AND DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE ALCOHOL RULE THAN JUST TO BLOW UP AND HANDLE IT IN A HOSTILE MANNER.

If you can't beat them try to get'em scratched. Some night hunters take that approach. I was on a cast where a guy had a small pistol on his side. With his coat covering it up I didn't notice it the first dump. After seeing it I said," what in the heck do you have a pistol on for, you know you can't have a gun at a night hunt". I really don't think the guy knew but he did get rid of the gun.

I cant believe I just wasted 5 minnute of my life reading this thread.

Its really very simple, Alcohol is not allowed on the grounds or during an event.

I see no problem with having a couple beers with a meal before a hunt, and I doubt UKC does either.

Being over the leagal blood alcohol for driving has nothing to do with UKC, nor should it.

I actually had a riding instructor buy me a drink at lunch at a horseshow( I was legal age)... to "relax me"... I have such comp. nerves.. Yeah right... I never left the portapotty! I have Never been able to drink, never been "drunk" cause I vomit WAY too early on....LOL.... I think WHiskey would just plain kill me! Yuck!
