One more thing, take a look at some STUPID post I made talking to my friend Jason Otten in WVa. I think over a thousand hits. How about post where somebody gives a negative opinion of somebodys breed, strain, or even registry, the post will go on forever, with true heated emotion on all sides. NOW look at post on issues in congress and other issues concerning our rights to make solid moral descisions for ourselves and loved ones. MAYBE a few hundred hits... maybe. I hope I'm not alone when we have a " Coon hound WACO/ Ruby Ridge". If we DO NOT GET IT TOGETHER AND STAND UP AND HAVE OUR VOTE COUNTED AS ONE, we are doomed. mike

One more thing then I'll leave it to whoever wants to continue, I think one of the BIGGEST problems we have is we are always preaching and defending our views to each other. The groups we belong to NEED to do a whole lot better job as far as letting the noncommited folks know how much {$} we put back into the economy, and how strong our vote realy is.

Howdy Mike,

Personally, I don't see were Walmart saves all that much money. Locally, a large super Walmart opened last year.

I don't buy anything without shopping around for it. The only thing I have seen that Walmart consistently sells cheaper is Clartin. Each and every other time I have checked prices Walmart has had the same prices, I mean identical, as Kmart and Meijers.

Its good that some of you have choices. But, there are no Kmarts or Targets in my town. I changed my oil last week, paid $1.88 a quart for Pennzoil at Wal-Mart. Forgot that I needed another 2 quarts, didn't feel like going to Wal-Mart so I go to Advance Auto Parts. Same oil was $2.99 a quart there. I have tried to buy generic medicine at CVS and Walgreens. When our little one needed gas drops, instead of going to Wal-Mart, we went to Walgreens. Same generic gas drops at Walgreens were $5 more than the ones at Wal-Mart.

Over the counter drugs do seem to be cheaper at Walmart. Claritin is an OTC drug. I can't say anything about prescription drugs I pay the same co-pay where ever I go.

Comparing Walmart to an auto parts store is apple and oranges. I strictly compare the prices from large department stores to large department stores, and the fact is to this date every comparison I have done has been the same price! I also realize that things maybe different outside of my area, but I don't suspect so. Otherwise, they couldn't stay in business.

I know times are tight for folks, we let this get out of control somewhere along the line. Not sure when. I guess when you can, do your buying and such with the ones who support you. Larry, will you be at the youth hunt?

Fellow Hunters

Gentelmen and Ladies too, we need to get a united front bird hunter, coon hunters, trappers, deer hunters, turkey hunters, ect... We need to combine join a cause to protect our right to hunt and bear arms, the land in my home state is disapearing at a fanomanal rate. No one is paying it much attention, but little by little they are taking it away selling it off in the name of progress. The groups like PETA are united fronts, but Christians and Hunters alike cannot get it together. If you put 10000 PETA members to gether in a room they would agree on their cause but if you put 50 Christians or Coon Hunter Deer Hunter Bird Hunter together they would fuss about who was right. Lets get it together before it is too late.

Clay, YOU GOT IT RIGHT. Take it one step further, everyday let a nonhunter know how much GOOD we do. Not antis, they are a waste of time talking to. If you do not feel comfortable talking hunting, talk about antis trying to shut down farming, research to save THEIR loved ones and THEIR pets, How they want to shut down leader dogs and other types of helper animals, the list is almost endless. mike

I compare stores that carry the same products, it doesn't matter the size or specialty. Especially when there is only 1 large store in my town. There are many times when I wish that I had more choices, I am glad some of you do. But again, I cannot spend more just to prove a point. Sorry, cold hard fact.

Ken, sometimes you just do what you can. The one thing I disagree with you is I am not just trying to prove a point. I WILL do anything I can to save my life style. mike

No back bone

This Nation was once full of proud Americans and today it is proud of its antiamericans. America the offended, we need to start being proud again, that means standing for whats right, I still shop at the mom and pops and spen the extra 10 dollars to give them my support. If you dont take a stand now there will be nothing to stand for. We need to let congress feel the pressure of displesure that we have with the job their doing.

Its great that ya'll have the extra $10 to spend at the mom and pop. I don't. Truth is, the mom and pop stores were dying out long before Wal-Mart started building supercenters.

The problem doesn't start with Wal-Mart. It starts with our elected officials. Boycotting Wal-Mart is not going to save our hunting and rights. How many "farmers" and "sportsmen" support candidates by just a party affiliation? Thats a big problem.
