I've fed Diamond and have had no problems. Only thing i've had is my 3 yr old is allergic to chicken and I had to take the dogs off the Diamond Extreme Athlete and put them on the Diamond Lamb and Rice. I've not had any coat problems and my female doesn't shake her head when she barks anymore. They have shiny coats, tight small stools and are very active.

To barktreed...sounds like you had an issue with the plant you got your feed from.

I feed it to all 3 of our house dogs and all 6 of my hounds, no runny stool at all, all have nice coats and maintane weight very well. It's hard to believe that there can be that much difference form one dog to another, but all ours do great on it. We have a 6 mo old English Mastiff that weighs just under 90lbs, so you know it's working well on her.

I started feeding Diamond (the green bag) a couple of months ago. After about 2 weeks my dogs looked great, shiny coats, and they filled out really well. The only thing is that my male almost immediately began acting differently. He still hunts just as hard, but around the house he noticeably seems to be a little "down". He used to be super active and playful, but now he is just "calmer", i guess you could say. I noticed this within 1 week after i started feeding Diamond. Anyone else notice anything else like this?

We fed the Diamond Naturals line for about 3-4 years and were always very pleased with the results - loved everything about it but the price. It went up to about 27.99 for a 40# bag of Chicken & Rice and about 35.00 for a bag of Lamb & Rice. So, about 2 months ago we switched to the Purple bag (26/18) of Hi-Standard and we LOVE it. We can get it for 20.00 for a 50# bag....

I pay $30 for the 40# bag by me. Thats for the Diamond Naturals lamb and rice.

I haven't noticed an decrease in my dogs activity level...even with the switch from the DEA to the L&R.

feed

wayne f try the tractor supply in your area and save the weight circles on purina one or pro plan and you will see a big differance in your dogs . thats all i feed. but will tell you that utra advantage is a excellent feed for several of my friends feed it. purina makes a differance in my dogs coat and muscle tone and saveing the weight circles it is not that bad of price and feed alot less of it i only feed 2 cups a day to the grown doge and about 3 to 4 to the pups depends on how the pup is eating .

which way to go!

I fed diamond green bag and was very satisfied with it for quite a while. My one male dog i fought with his ears and shaking his head for a long time, tried everything i could think of as far as ear cleaning and medicines.I changed to Sportsmix 24-20 and his head shaking has pretty well stopped. The only problem now is i seem to get a lot of waste with sportmix.Has anyone else noticed this with Sportmix?I do believe the problem with Diamond was he is alergic to the wheat, also was using some treats loaded with wheat and have quit doing that also.

The diamond naturals has no wheat, soy, corn, by products etc. Its good for dogs with allergies.

Chris man,
I know it wasn't funny, but when I read your post, about your beagle shaking it's head and walking sideways, I just pictured that in my head and almost fell out of my chair laughing. I'm sorry, sometimes I can't help myself.

"you think he was trying to tell you something" ?
