Central Minnesota is very good except for cold winter weather. Across the Mississippi River into Wis. (Western part) is darn good if you can stay away from those big hills. Central Iowa is hands down the best, tons of coon and easy to hunt. I liked hunting down at Flora, Ill; also. Worst place that I ever hunted was back in Denver, S.C. Back in June of 1972, I hunted the whole month with Mr. Jim Mathis and World Champion Carolina Casey. Lots of coon, but the gators and water moccasins did me in. You couldn't pay me enough to go back and hunt in that hell hole!!!!! Charlie Radtke

I like it right here in SE MN. I can drive 30 mins in any direction from my house and hunt about any type of terrain. Flat ag land to the west, rolling hills to the north, hardwoods all around, bluffs, creek bottoms, river valleys, etc..
NE IA has some nice areas too. WI is nice too and bear hunting with hounds is a plus.
The downfall of my area is increasing populations everywhere and new homes popping up all over the rural areas.
