LOL it is like watching a monkey with a cocconut! Here is a hint for all you southerners. Giving it more gas is not the answer!
They will close school here for 6-8 inches of snow for a week, back home 18 inches might do the trick!
lol, you are so right, I remember the first ice storm I encountered here in OK. I left for work only to discover that traffic was backed up for a mile, almost stopped. When I finally got closer I discovered the problem was that the people in front of me couldn't make it up a hill that wasn't any big deal for me, but folks here couldn't make it up. They would get halfway up and lose traction, then they would floor it and go sideways and slide down the hill. I turned off and went 5 miles out of my way, slowly, but I still got there faster than if I would have stayed where I was. It happens every time it snows, which fortunately is only about twice a year. Also, the best invention for safe driving on the snow is anti-lock brakes, not 4wd. My Suburban has both, and I feel pretty safe driving in that, of course it helps that I grew up in Northern MI and actually know how to drive on the stuff. I also like to do a quick "road check" by going slow in a safe place, and slamming on the brakes to see how slick it really is. A few donuts are always fun too
