I go by this standard, at least on the national level. "There are a lot of bad Republicans and there are no good Democrats".

I would imagine that those two analyst were flaming liberals this morning trying to give the Democrats a boost before November. Hilliary Clinton running for President is the best thing that could possibly happen to the Republican party in 2008. She is way to liberal/socialist for the majority of Americans to stomach for one thing. Then you have all the skeletons in her closet from the Whitewater scandal etc.

I myself would rahter have the former mayor from N.Y. city than anyone else. And does it really matter who we vcote for? With the electoral college they are who decides who will be our next great leader. I will still go vote in the elections .

Mark, I agree with u totally. I was in the army in the Carter and Reagan yrs. When Carter was pres there was military personel on welfare and that is a shame. Reagan gave all of us raises and made it where a family man could survive. Clinton closed more military bases than any president before him and since. Sure if u are going to close down bases and cut all kind of military spending it will look good on paper. I for one would rather have a stronger military! Just my thoughts,,,,

that is so True..............

was talking with our local district Rep the other day, nice guy, stands up for our part of the country but he told me of all the fights he has with those representing the Chicago areas and there are lots of them. Jim is retired FBI......yep and knows the importance of gun owners, hunting and enjoying the outdoors, and all those in the chicago area talk about is how much money can they get to keep things running in there. They have no incomes coming in for tax revenue because it is mostly welfare and Gov't housing, city blocks long of people doing nothing but sitting at home waiting on a gov't check, drugs on every corner, gangs running the streets, and what gets me is we have programs right there, education (free), job training (free), child care (free) for those in these programs and the % of those in the programs is so small it makes you wonder and our tax $$ are paying for it

Jim is a Republican, as he believes you should be able to work and not have gov't hindering you or telling you how to live and allow you to better yourself............his apponent is a person we all know who came out here from chicago.......what a nut case, but is retired and came out here with a big pocket full of cash. He has spent close to 1 Million $$ to win a state elected job that will pay $55,000 a year ????????? Why would anyone do that ??? He has given no ideas for what he would do to help this area other than try and bring industry to a large farming area ??? Duhhhhh if we wanted to build the area up like chicago we'd just move there to begin with

With that kind of thinking we'll grow I guess but we'll also get what comes with it.......CRIME, DRUGS, GANGS, More and higher tax's........and who is going to fill these factory jobs ?????? What would come of our rolling farming country side ???????? Dirt, Garbage, Smog, and the trash that follows and not just the kind that goes to the dump.

Nope your right, good people getting into office are just not coming forward but I see why sometimes talking with our elected folks because of the head on problems they face every day fighting the kuckle heads that do make up our elected officials

You just have to wonder sometimes

There are a few still out there and I'll continue to support them, at times it seems more like voting for the lesser of two evils and that is the shame of it when it comes to our elected officials who are suppose to be working for us rather than working on their own personal agenda.
