I'm 100% for making english the official language, but I wonder if anything else was attached to the bill.

Now I'm conservative and vote Republican most of the time but you have to watch any politician.

I watched as the Gentleman from Okla tried to introduce this bill on c-span

I hate to say it but Dick Durbin was the person who tore this up and tried to make it what it was not.............

Plain and simple the bill was one of the most simple bills ever wrote...........English would become the known official language for the United States of America

Dick Durbin kept tearing into the bill wanting to know this and that and the Gentleman from Okla just kept saying ......sire I am not a lawyer just a business man, elected to serve Okla, the bill is right in front of you, what part of ........

Engish will become the offical language of the United States

It was Durbin, and other cronnies like him that turned a simple bill and made it about race, and every other imaginable thing you can think of...........twisting things like they love to do

Funny thing is ILL has this on its books for the State Constitution

And Durbin and Obama went against the wishes of the people of Illinois just to save their BASE.................that is all they care about Their BASE ............ to bad they do not worry about the citizens whom they represent........tax paying people who work for a living

it has a pattern if you look at it, more of those serving large metropolitians that have more folks that are lets say more prone to vote Dem than anything else, again........the BASE is all they worry about

Two from my state voted against it.

I am for making English the official language.

I will vote for them again because of a whole host of other issues. That is the real problem. I wish more Dems. and reps. would be more moderate.

We are officially a bi lingual nation i believe and i'm pretty sure that we are probably more spanish speaking than american anyways, its only a matter of time till we are more spanish so we mights well get used to it....its conversations like the one were having here that make me embarassed to be a coonhunter at times lol...

You will have to update me as I have not been watching the news lately, tired of hearing one side keep saying its time to cut and run but I'll watch in the morning just to see if they have done anything to help those who work for a living.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not 100% behind everything our current administration is doing, but I believe that just as our forefathers had to do (learn English) and get a job and become American Citizens to earn their way and the benifits that Americans earn rather become part of the problem ....... so as an American I strongley believe that if your here without the legal paperwork then you should be found and kicked out

You should not be a drain on our legal system, our Welfare system, our public schools, and a drain on the working class of this country. I do respect that everyone has the right to their opinion and that is what this country has over all other countries is the freedom that comes by being an American.

Well I wish they would either hurry up and pass the **** bill or kill it so they can start figuring out how to improve our schools, fix our health care system, stop sending manufacturing jobs out of the country, stop illegal immigration, solve the overpopulation problem, curb global warming, reduce the national debt, narrow the trade deficit, protect our ports better, figure out the middle east and find Bin Laden.

If they pass the bill, does that mean everyone on the board finally has to learn proper English? And learn how to spell?

The one about us being lazy, and they just do the jobs we don't. That realy offends me. I've worked my rear off "All" my life. I know alot of fine men that have. I know alot of fine men also that were laid off and let go because the boss could work 3 or 4 mexicans for the cost of 1 american. Neadless to say the 3 or 4 together can't do the quality or quantity that the 1 american can.
