Has anyone seen or looked at the fair tax. Where you take home you gross pay all hidden taxes are removed and you pay one flat tax across the board. If you are here illegal and buy anything you have to pat taxes like anybody else. Then put all the senators on the same retirment as every other citizen.Instead of the huge amount's that they get just for one term.Then that would peoably straighten out our social security probleam atlest help it. If you have any question on it look it up at fairtax.org That will help gas prices I think. I know reelection time is coming I hepled put these people in office I'm going to try and remove all the senators and congressman that are there now for my state.

Just a few questions
Why are we not drilling for oil in Alaska?
Why are we not building wind farms off the coast of Mass?
Why was the deal Bush was making with Saudi Arabia in 2004 to produce more oil and keep the price at around $30 a barrel taken off the table?
Who hates SUVS and wants them all off the road?

If you can find the answer to these you will know who is behind the high price of gas.

Next time we all vote why don't we vote for somebody with a real energy plan instead of someone who actually owns stock in oil companies. Lets find a president who thinks like Kennedy did. Do it just like we did for going to the moon. Get up in front of America and say that we are going to invest our money in an energy solution. Pay for more kids like me to go to school to be chemical engineers. Then figure out a goal, like in the next ten years our country is going to be energy self sufficient. Thats just what JFK did and look who went to the moon first. The solution is to not be dependant on everybody else for our oil. The truth is, we don't even need oil, we already have plenty of alternate fuels. But when your president is invested in oil why would he want the prices to drop? Its not like he has to pay for his own gas or anything. Anyways this is just my opinion, and i'm just a 19 year old kid so take it for what its worth.

What gets me is every one forgets the President don't have much to say about anything! President has about as pull as I do which isn't much! LOL Its time we get rid of the money hungry congress that keep staying from the time I was in first grade and they still are there! You don't see any one pointing the finger at the ones that need it! Congress and House! The price per barrel of oil isn't any higher nor as high when I went to Mich for bear season! Thinking about a mule or dirt bike for hunting something easy on gas! Makes you wonder why they never have come up with an other fuel by now with all the technolgy we have today? Cause then they wouldn't get all the high profits! LOL Keep kool its going to get another heat wave!

I don't believe supply and demand has as much to do with oil prices as corporate oil companies would like us to believe. It seems supply is adequate. All the gas one would like to buy at $3.

In two years gas doubles in price. OPEC has done what they set out to do, control the oil world wide. Any crisis across this earth will be the next reason OPEC can raise oil to a new high.

I really don't think less usage will lower prices like other commodities since we are dealing with a monopoly. A commodity that supplies energy that will replace oil and not controlled by OPEC will lower oil prices.

In a free enterprise system, competition is the tool that keeps prices in check. OPEC has eliminated that competition. If large petroleum can gross the same money on 1 gallon compared to 5 gallons, which system would you decide to go with if you were in the oil business?

Hoss I promise you one thing. Bill Clinton will go down in history as one (if not the) of the best presidents we have ever had. What did he do for the USA? Look at Monkeyhead george Bush,what has he got us into? At least clinton did'nt get us into this kinda mess. I never said clinton was a saint. He's a womanizer. AND??????? I like women myself. Their skin is soft, and they smell good to boot. Of course there are shady deals behind closed doors. Do you not help your friends out with the buddy system? All the sudden everyone is 'holy than thou' when the shoes on the other foot. What Clinton does on his personal time is his business. He kept gas prices down, passed alot of terrorist laws, kept the economy going and the list goes on and on.

And futhermore, you folks wanted GB. Elected him twice. By God you ask for it you got it. On top of that, you drug the other 49% down with you. We all are in the same shape. I hope....no I pray....that the USA learned its lesson the bush years.

Here we are griping and moaning about the price of gasoline in this country when in reality, we were simply spoiled with cheap gas for way to long.

I hate fuel costs as much as anyone, and it has affected my life and the things that I do. I do however feel that this problem will act as a wake up call to the American public that perhaps we should not allow our way of life be based on a product that is largly controlled in a place a volatile as the middle east. Who out there likes the feeling of having your way of life affected by countries 1000's of miles away? Who wants to feel like we cannot defend freedom in this world because we fear the impact on the price of oil? If the cost of gasoline today doesn't shout "we no longer need to postpone the exploration of other options", I don't know what does.

Lets say tomorrow OPEC decides they are simply cutting off supply, really, how prepared would we as a nation be?? You should be thanking them for getting you ready and preparing us as a nation for the future.

Curt what people mean is not making unneccesary trips. I know you don't make any more trips than what are absolutely needed. I would say you have cut your consumption as much as you can. I too have cut my consumption....lol I am going to Indiana to pick up my dog this weekend, and my new tracking system. Rather than making two trips, I combined them lol.


For those of you whining about gas prces.

I have your solution, Jackbob kind of hit on it.
Actually 3 solutions...


1.) Buy a ****ed bike and work off some of the fat we as a nation are carrying around.

2.) Get a Horse and cart and do it the old fashioned way.


3.) Move to one of those countries that don't cow-tow to special interest groups and prevent drilling in your own oil fields and have prevented the building of a new refinery since the late 1970's.


Stop freaking whining.

I believe Bud said you got to know when to say when. Well at $3.19 a gallon now and a supplier here said it will go to over $3.75 a gallon in the next month that led me to say Autumn Oaks is out of the question for us can't afford over $400.00 in gas only. O well don't make no diference.
