Congrats to my good friend John Bishop and his hound Sonic on being one of the few double cast winners at the Ashland Bluetick Spring Hunt. In the end, John and Sonic came up just a little short on making King.

 Dixie's first GrandNite cast

Congrats to Rod and Dixie on their Friday night cast win at Black & Tan Days. This was Dixie's first Grand Night cast, with competition. Rod and Dixie have proven to be a very good team, that are consistent at winning their cast. Hopefully we can get Dixie in a RQE this summer, along with trying to hit a few of the bigger hunts with her. The litttle Gal has come a long way from when I got her back at 9 months old. I could tell back then she had it in her to make a "Good one".

 BLUE MIDNIGHT SLEDGE

SLEDGE IS OUT OF JACK X HONKY TONK. SLEDGE IS A FULL BROTHER TO "BULL". IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE I HAVE BEEN OUT FOR A HUNT. I WAS ABLE TO GO FOR A SHORT HUNT WITH SOME GOOD FRIENDS. IT'S ALSO BEEN AWHILE SINCE SLEDGE HAS BEEN HUNTED. WE CUT THEM LOOSE AND I FIGURE SLEDGE DID A LITTLE "HORSE RACING" AS HE TRAVELED AROUND A MILE IN VERY SHORT ORDER, NEXT THING YOU KNOW HE HITS A TRACK AND 'BAM' HE IS HOOKED. WE DRIVE AROUND TO SHORTEN THE WALK. I GET TO THE TREE, KICK ON THE RED LIGHT, SQUALL JUST A BIT AND THERE HE SITS. I THROW THE BRIGHT LIGHT UP THERE TO CONFIRM "MR. COON" AND SURE ENOUGH A RINGED TAIL HANGING OVER A LIMB. I GIVE OLE SLEDGE A PAT ON THE HEAD AND A PAT ON THE SIDE AND LET HIM KNOW THAT HE "GOT HIM". WE LOADED UP AND MET UP WITH THE OTHERS. WE THEN ALL ENGAGED IN SOME "TAIL GATE TALK" UNDER THE STARS , BEFORE WE DECIDED TO CALL IT A NIGHT. IT WAS A SHORT HUNT, BUT HAD A GREAT TIME. BELOW IS A PIC OF SLEDGE TREED WITH THE COON ON LAST NIGHT'S HUNT.

I had a guy in IL nice enough to give me a female out of Jack x Honky Tonk . She is 3 must be a litter mate to the sledge dog. This female has the most ability to tree lay up coons of any dog I ve seen in 20 years. I m very happy with my jack dog. Great mouth hunts out good she will finish out this winter.

Good to hear she is working out for you. Glad you gave her a chance. Yes, She is a sister to Sledge, and Bull. Honky Tonk was a country Coon dog that was good looking dark colored, with a male dog mouth. I only raise one litter off her and sold her to a friend to raise a litter. He hunted her some and she died unexpectedly a year or so later. He never got to breed to her. Honky Tonk was old Vaughn breeding. Keep me posted on your female. Send a picture or two sometime. Congrats to my good friend John Bishop and his nice young hound Slick. John and Slick did a little winning at " Battle of the Breeds". I believe Slick is now a NiteCh. Slick was also King of the Reunion this year. Slick also has made PKC Champion and Top 16 of the Breed this year. Slick is out of GrntCh PKC Ch Bishop's Blue Super Sonic and a Richard Edinger female. Slick is "Bullet" bred on bottom side and a Grand pup to Harpeth River Blue Jack on top side. Congrats!!

Yes Jack's still alive , but no longer live breeding. Yes we do have semen stored in Wabash, IN at Nevergone and in Smithville,TN. Dwayne, I will try and give you a call tomorrow evening. I spoke with Zeb tonight and gave him some info. Also my number was misprinted in one of the past bluebooks. My number 618-553-4754.
