But due to weather coming in I decided not to hunt. I waited till deadline to decide not to turn loose. All the snow we are suppose to get before midnight and it was raining pretty good when I left the club. Just want to be safe and live to hunt again. Only two open dogs and 4 nite champions with this weather coming in.

Elmo dont know what type of scores Higbee came in with Saturday night. But what ever they had those guys and dogs would have deserved it! It was flat raining around home when cast were drawn. Well Saturday night at Higbee I couldn't get it done.
1st drop 3 way split. 1 den, 1 slick, and a big sycamore
with vines. 2nd drop 1 den and a brush pile.
The open cast had 225+ on 1 coon.

First drop she went in about 400 yards and opened on track at 600 yards she treed. I was going to her and she stopped treeing came out. Hmmm. She went to the truck. As I looked around for a possum I didn't find one. Meanwhile Maggie treed again down from the truck. I went to her and she had a medium coon in a very small tree over water. Well the coon bailed in and Maggie grabbed him a brought him to shore for the finish. I then walked her down a ways and cut her loose. Maggie went 958 yard and came back towards me then bang she just treed. I went in she stayed and had the coon again. It started raining so I called it a night.

Yes Maggie is doing her thing for sure. She is still nervous about being in trouble so we will have to work on that. I think she is broke for sure. I would have loved to find her first tree to see what she had but she sure didn't want to go back that is for sure.

Lumber is doing well for being 8 months old. He is treeing coons, catching coons on the ground and seems to be smart. He is working well with Apple running loose.
I think his old ancesters is coming out. Doubled up on everything.
He might just make a stud dog yet. He needs to be a coondog first. At least he is starting early and has a really good mouth on him.
Time will tell
Of course none of this would be possible without my good friend Daniel Morton behind the scene. He has helped Roler, Sounder and many others of my hounds get their start or finish. Great man and great job.

Elmo, hot dog glad to see you took Maggie and got that accomplished..well done! How was the fog Saturday night, I could not see 20 feet off the deck. I had planned on coming to Macon but backed out after the fog set in? As for Lumber man, I did not video him on the coon in the tree. man I tell you what not sure what that coon was thinking climbing a tree right next to the dog pens. Needless to say it turned the light on for Lumber!!!! More to come Elmo!

Charlie Wyatt and I went for a drop or two.
I had Maggie he had Image and is Doulbe bred Jet pup 8 months old.
First drop Maggie and Image struck and went about 900 yard and got tree among cattle. We that thorn tree with flat slick. It was a tough track. The Jet pup opened some but finally came in.
Next drop Image, Maggie and the Jet pup opened and away they went wide open about 800 yards in Maggie lets out a huge located and Image did so as well. Game over meat in the tree. The Jet male didn't tree but he was at the tree when we got there.
We called it a night.
Maggie has developed a very nice locate and she treed every breath. Oh I love the sound for sure.
