with Tim, Mark, Scott and Timmy last night. We made a lot of trees seen 14 coon. Three trees had litters in them. First kitten coon we have treed since season opened the 16th of Nov.
Only took 4 coon out and two of those was to Scotts pup which did an excelant job. Although Scott had to work hard for one of them. Timmy shot the coon and it died and hung up in the tree about 30 foot up. Scott being a Game Warden and not wanting to have the term Wanton-Waste on his record climbed the tree and got it out. Of course we were all very helpfull shinning where he was blinded most of the time and after he threw the coon out we all just shined the coon on the ground and left him to fend for himself.haha
Now after saying all of that I would say that last night was the most embarassing night of my life as far as dog work goes for Timmy and I. I think what really happened was that Smoke ran a few coon so fast that he beat them to the tree!! He absolutelly looked like a two dollar trade dog last night. He treed two litters but other than that I wouldn't have given you two dollars for him.
Coon moved all night and we got home at 3:30 and I had to be at work at 7:00. Can't say that I feel real good this morning.

I'll even let you retain lifetime breeding rights to him. Just kidding. Sounds like you guys had a good hunt. Just one of those nights that we will never figure out. But at least we got it off our plate...all I know for sure is nights like that are going to happen. All our dogs looked bad not just yours with exception of Scotts pup. You would think reading your post...treeing that many coons would be a heck of a night.......I guess you just had to be there! But you have to admit hunting with Tim is a BLAST no matter how the dogs look!

Hi Ron, Hey it was one of those nights that a feller just can't figure out why a dog does what it does. Ole Smoke is on his A game most of the time and that night was not his night. In fact none of the dogs did very good. As far as the hunting goes, we hunted on a ranch that Timmy works for off and on and no one has hunted it before. Pretty sweet spot, we will keep that one under our hat and go back in about a week or so.

Mark, Tim is a blast to be around. I kept chuckling to myself the way he teased Scott all night about being a Game Warden.
We need to pick his brain for all the info we can for the future. I think Tim and Paul has a leg up on a future plan for these blues.

Hey I am super proud of the boys also. The future of the Mad Dog team is in good hands.

Timmy and Brownie hunted again last night but I went to church and then went home and to bed. After you guys kept me out so late the night before I was wore slick.

To all and to all a Good Night.

Timmy hunted Robin and Lacey and had a good night. Lacey is treeing good and fought a coon by herself to the death. He said after the coon got a hold of her a couple of times that she just got that much madder and put the kill hold on it.
Robin split from Brownies dogs and had the meat.

This weekend is busy and the hunting will loose out to my wife and family for the holiday.
Next week I go in the hospital for three days to treat my lyme deasese and rocky mountain spoted fever. the tigers are elevated real high again. Been fightin this since Aug of last year.

Hope to get out Sunday and Monday night for a few drops before all this other stuff starts.

Hope to be in here only a couple of days. Getting some high powered antibiotics for 48 hrs straight to see if we can kill this thing. Looks like the weather may hold for a little while. Makes it great starting some young dogs. Boars seem to be running good, makes me think breeding will start early this year.


Bill Kaeneal from Wis. called this evening and bought the last female pup out of Smoke and Drizz for a buddy of his. That only leaves two male pups. These are good looking and good acting pups. Super bold and investigating everything. They all seem to have loud mouths and everybody that has got one said they acted like they had been alone all their life. Seperation from their littermates was no big deal.

Timmy is hunting Robin and Pearl to night, ought to be a good night.

That hospital bed gets hard after a few days and the food isn't fit for ol Smoke. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

The wife had to take her father to Barnes Jewis Hospital in St Louis for open heart surgery. It was scheduled for this a.m. Hope and pray everything is going well.

We had some good coon races last night. The boars may be getting out some but they seem to know where home is located.

Timmy hunted Robin with Brownies dog Fox last night. Treed a couple of big big did I say Big den trees. Last dump they went through the section and opened in the next and got into it about a 1/3 of a mile and had a den again, Timmy said it was huge also.

i think Timmy is hunting Old Rooster II tonight and of course Robin. When he dumps old Rooster it might be the last of the night. At 13 he will go for ever to hit a coon and has no reverse. Robin will just get to ride around in the truck.haha Last time hunted the old man he treed two close to the truck and I cut him from the tree and he went 1 1/2 miles to strike the next one and treed it at the back of that section
