Zig

Thanks. Art's Speed dog is a littermate or full brother to Stubbie. I got her from Roger to breed to Zig when she got old enough.

Thanks Mike for helping Art. The female has that tan head and you can see Old Dan and Dan 3's influence throughout. Old blood. Zig looks just like Dual Gr. Ch. Mears' Finley River Zoom on the tree. Compare their tree style. Tom Wilbers and I raised Zoom from a puppy.

Zig is a grandson of Zoom on top and a greatgrandson of Zoom on the bottom.

He will keep the desireable Finley River traits in his pups. Look and listen to Candie. I don't think I need to spend anymore time on the subject. I love to hear Candie tree.

Hi,
It was very cool the other night. Cool enough I thought I would go for one drop and give the dog a good tick bath when I got home.

I took Paige, a direct daughter of Rambler and Lill's younger sister.
She struck down the branch a few minutes after I turned her loose with that high pitch, screaming, tenor mouth. She drove that track down the branch a few hundred yards and parked under the coon. She was hammering that tree with over a hundred barks a minute. Her front feet planted firmly on the tree. I saw the coons eyes long before I got there. I smiled, petted her for a while and told her what a good job she did. Put her on the leash and headed for the truck. Got home and dipped her, then sprayed her off. Cold shower for me under the well pump cistern and off to the house for a real shower and a late night sandwich.

Hi RD,

I hope so, too. Thanks for picking up Tuff for me. I really appreciate it. Saved me a lot of grief. I should have never sold that pup. I didn't think anyone would pay that much money for a 4 month old pup. When he left, I thought the man would never be back. One hour later, he came back with the money. I had no choice, but to let the pup go.

I don't raise winter pups, too hard here in Missouri. I hope they come in soon. Cycles messed up with the weather we have been having in the spring.

Tuff goes back to Lill twice and Rambler 3 times on the top. His mother is Starke"s Finley River Stubbie. She goes back to Finley River Chief over 126 times. I will be breeding some females to him.

Hi,

Emma was bred 7/8. She should have pups the middle of September. Emma is the youngest daughter of Nt. Ch. Durbin's Rambler. She is a littermate to Kenny Durbin's Junk dog. I will put a pedigree up in a few days.

If you want hard hunting, fast track dogs with loud screaming mouths, this litter is for you. They should have cold noses, accurate, stay put tree dogs that can tree coons on frozen ground, snow, or ice, in January or February. They won't have to have leaves on to make them look good. Dual Ch. Turkey Creek Teddy

Hi,

Teddy is for real. Ask anyone who has hunted with him. He is also a grandson of Dual Gr. Ch. Mears' Finley River Zoom, just like Ziggy. That's why I bred to him. I wanted a Teddy female to breed back to Ziggy. I wanted the bottom to be Rambler. I don't breed in a hopscotch manner, ie. to yesterdays big winner. I breed blood to blood and over a long history they have proven to reproduce generation after generation from very few crosses. Trap was a strong reproducer. If you don't think that is an accurate statement, check out todays Finley River dogs and see what is there.

CH Kiger's Finley River Speed

Speed won the CH Male Class at the Nebraska State Hunt, that's one towards the Grand.
Speed is not off of Zig but bred with some of same dogs, I plan on crossing a pup of Speeds to Zig. I feel that posting dogs and there wins that have the same breeding only supports Zig as a stud. It can provide history to females planned to cross on Zig.

Thank you, we like him a lot , he's doing real good for us trees real live coons LOL!!!! Treeing a few layups this summer, good mind, nice mouth and easy on the eyes. I haven't put him in any hunts yet, I want to put another kill season on him and he'll be rite as rain and 3 yrs old, old enough and mature enough to start put'n him the hunts. I can hardly wait for his daughter to turn two yrs old so I can cross her to Zig. How's Spot doing ? Hope all is well.

Speed

Hi,

Congrats on your win. Preacher won Gr's at the Missouri State Championship Friday. Kandi keeps him in an AC house and Sat when they showed outside in 98 degree heat he didnt show as well and got beat for the overall State Champion by Thunder, one of the dogs he beat Friday.

Preacher won 2014 Missouri State Show Dog of the Year with the High Score of 825+.

Good job guys. Speed is the same breeding as Bob's Stubbie dog. We made that cross three times and it worked all three times. Keep the FINLEY RIVER going.

Hi,

Stubbie is Tuff's mother. she is not for sale. I got her from Roger as a puppy. I have never been disappointed with her one single day of her life. She goes back to Finley River Chief 126 times. Tuff is out of my direct daughter of Rambler, Lill, twice. Tom Wilber's Boomer dog and Lill's daughter, Jane. That makes him triple Rambler bred. I will breed him to some females next year.
My two crosses that has lasted 35+ years for hunters across the nation to enjoy... Trap to Lonnie and Trap to Lipper.

Emma is close to having her puppies. She is the youngest female out of Rambler crossed on Roger Prater's, Teddy.

Emma's pedigree is updated. The pups should be here next week. Thes pups should be the real deal. All Finley River and Lipper bred. Rambler, Trap, Zoom, and Lipper have written their story in Treeing Walker history.

Teddy is a real coon hound and he is reproducing. Call John Monroe or Roger Prater.

Bred Jewell this week. Will post her pedigree in a few days, when I have time. Look at some of her show wins on the profile. Her pics are on this thread. She has a head, muzzle, and ears you don't see on hounds of today. She has outstanding color, confirmation, disposition and reproducing pedigree. Her mother, Pearl, won Nt. Ch. in 3 hunts. 2 RQE's and 10th place at Battle of the Breeds. Pearl also was High Scoring dog last fall at Missouri's MCHF's Sweet Sixteen.Kenny Overby handled her. Pearl's score was 625+ with the leaves off.

Jewell goes hunting good. Fast track dog. Gives mouth according to the track. She is a chop mouth stand on the tree, tree dog.

My goal is, and always has been, to put the best looking hound I possibly can on the ground, that will run and tree coons with the best of them. Not in July, when a shepard can tree coons, but in January and February. It takes a real hound in those conditions.

Hi,

If you will go back to a post on this thread made by Hoghill Hounds,entitled Starke's Finley River Tuff, there is a a line that reads," View My Video." Click on that and you can see my dogs from 1978 to the present. You can see the foundation dogs behind Ziggy in his pedigree. Jane, Dancer, Trap.

You can see the dogs of the past look just like the dogs of the present. It shows how dominant the line breeding of Nt. Ch. Finley River Chief in the Walker breed can be. It is not just the phenotype. The genotype is there as well. Cold nose, fast track dogs, accurate tree dogs, big mouths. Known for their intelligence.
