Thanks Merle it was fun!! You did a great job guiding us it's not easy finding that many good drops!! I always enjoy hunting with Bruce and Jake. Good guys make for good hunts. I do believe that Powder is the real deal!!! I'm glad I don't have to beat her ,or I would be in real trouble!!

Hey guys, it sure was fun to get out Friday! I thought we had a pretty good night considering that clear, frosty conditions! Rambler looked good. I believe, crossing Rambler and Powder should throw some really nice pups.....and I bet there won't be an open spotted one in the bunch, just a guess! LOL Hope to do it again soon.

I have Herb Mason's 10 month old female out of Rambler here, she is heading in the right direction. After couple weeks and some coon out to her I bet she will be doing it Rambler style. She's a very independent pup!

Herb Mason's 10 month old Rambler female Roxy from one of the early Rambler crosses last year split treed from my buddies grandnite tonite with the meat about 75 yards from him, he was slick and she had the meat, looks like Rambler threw a totally independent one in Roxy!

Thats good to hear JJ! From what I've heard that litter is doing very well, I think all the ones that have been hunted will tree their own coon!! They are the oldest litter out of Rambler except for a litter he sired a few years back. I had a female out of that bunch I should have kept. She was making a nice hound, but I wasn't hunting much at all at the time and gave her away. Still kicking myself over that.

Jake is going to breed Powder to Rambler next week. Powder is one of the loudest, hardest tree dogs I have been in the woods with. Not to mention her looks!! Powder is out of Gunsmoke so I am excited to say the least about this cross!!

Also Samuel Passwaters breed Hannah to Rambler last week. This is the cross Roxy is out of. Hannah is a coon treeing machine!! I have seen her tree piles of coon. Hannah is out of Smith's Bull Dozer. So far the first cross seems to be coming on strong, hopefully the second cross will do the same!!

Boy that powder cross sounds nice! I've liked all the gunsmoke dogs I've hunted with wish I had the room for one but I've got enough to keep me busy for a while!

Really lookin foward to handling rambler in a few months again! Just the few conversations we've had about it has me itchin ready to go!

Jake and Bruce, brought Powder down last night, and we where able to get Her bred to Rambler. We are going to get them together again on Saturday. Just to make sure.

Powder is out of Gunsmoke, and a Gr.Nite Female out of Bubba's sister. She is with out doubt one of the finest looking hounds I have ever seen!! And a tree dog deluxe!!! I believe Jake said Powder has 3 wins toward Grand.

Roxy did a nice job tonight. She really started hammerin trees. Treed real good with the old female on a den and then split treed from her and both had a coon. She is going to be an independent, loud hound! Reminds me a lot of Rambler!

Jake- Thank you for breeding Powder to Rambler. It really is a honor, at least to me when someone considers breeding their top notch female to him!!! There are a lot of other really nice hounds to choose from. So to say I appericate you breeding Powder to Rambler is a understatment!!! Anytime You, Your Dad, and Jared get a chance to go hunting let me know!


JJ- That was a ball of fun the other night! I'm glad you decided to come down. The only thing that would have made it better is if Doug and Tyson could have made it. If we can we need to hunt togther more often!! It sounds like Holly is teaching Roxy a thing or two about treeing coons!! Roxy would be wise if she took some notes from the old girl on that subject!!

Sure will Tom, Jarod said he cant wait to come up and hunt with rambler. I forgot about Ashley too. I think without her we would still be tryin to figure that paperwork out haha.

JJ - Roxy looks good. I like seein them pups do what they are bred to do. Looks like she may take after her daddy. Keep her in the woods.
