Yes sir and glad he don't mind settin us back on track, and he don't beat around the bush about it either.

It's kinda like spending all our time with a old dog and not enough with a new pup, but sometimes we don't realize stuff on our own, it takes a outside influence to open things up to us.

And Larry thank you for bein here for us younger less experienced handlers.
You have never failed to help me anytime that I have came to you. And for that I very grateful!!!

Well, took some time off and had some good ole family time. Had some other personal stuff come up in that time as well.

I'll be back at it for the remainder of this week and then I'll be down for about a week or so after this Friday. I have to have a minor surgery done and I'll be out after that for a week or so.

BUT....when I get back on that horse gentlemen.......watch out because here me and Jack come....and we're going for gold....a Gold certificate from the UKC that is. =)

Oh man I haven't loaded those up yet! Holy cow.

I've been one busy guy since I got back. I'll get those loaded up tonight before I go to the timber.

Jack sure looks good right now. He finally got his appetite back with the heat coming down and he's put on some weight and looks real good. He was always slick, just a bit thin this summer. But he turned that corner and is looking right.

Well Jack and Jim had a great night.

They went huntin and, of course, ended up going the way we didn't want them to go. So we called them back and tried this again.

This time they went where we wanted and ended up treed a little over 320yards from the truck. They hunted that creek bed like they knew what they were doing. lol

Jack did a good job tonight and I feel confident that I did the right thing for giving him some time off to catch his breath after this hard summer of hunting.

Jim looked real good tonight as well. He did a good job grubbing that track and a good job tightening up at the tree and treeing.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures and didn't get home in time to load the others. I'll get it tomorrow after work.

Kent

Poor ol Jim had a rough night last night. We cut loose along a corn field on top of a holler and they put one in the ground quick. Then the other 2 dogs went to horse racin and apperantly me and Kent broke Jim from that last week, because he stopped about 300yds in and came back. I tried to send him back out but he didn't want nothin to do with it. He hung around close for about 20min. Then decided it was time to roll yonder. He rolled in about 350yds by himself and struck along a creek, and the rest of the dogs pulled to him, he finally got locked up on a big tree top in some rough cut over.

All in all he done a descent job. Only problem was when he came back, but like I said I think we broke him from horse racin.

I'll take it. Got struck by himself, and got hooked. He was just telling you that the other dogs were doing something stupid. =)

Well boys I'm off and running again after this week. I may even deer hunt during the day and coon hunt at night. =D

I'll be having some pictures of Jack up hopefully this weekend or the beginning of next week.

Be good and I'll be looking for you at the tree.

Got good news from the UKC today.

I've officially passed both my Master of Hounds and Bench Show Judge test. First time go.

Now all I've got to do is complete my apprenticeship and I'll be a licensed Master of Hounds and Bench Show Judge.

My goal is to be a fair, honest, and forthright in all of my judgements and choices. I want to be known as the MOH / Judge that calls it by the books regardless of breed, friend, or foe.

Well Jon and I went coon hunting on Friday night and Deer Hunting on Wednesday morning.

The coon hunting we much more successful. lol It was just Jack and Jim, they got set loose down a big holler and got struck in fairly quick. It has been dry and hot here and the track was pretty dang cold, not to mention the moon was so bright you didn't need a light to see.

Jack ended up treeing first and had 2 coons up a big Ceder tree. Jim wasn't far behind and ran the track himself to ensure that Jack had the meat. It was a good night. Jack and Jim showed out real good for a fella who, at first, wanted nothing to do with dogs that would range out.....he seemed real happy about their performance that night though. =)

Yes sir it was a good hunt and like always Jack showed out real good.
I'm really startin to like the progress that Jim is makin also. Now that I have jus layed off him and let him do his thing in his own sweet time without tryin to rush him along.

Hopefully now that we have gotten moved and startin to get settled in I can get back to singling him out again.
Thanks for comin down this weekend Kent, I really enjoyed it, and thanks for helpin us move.

I'm certain that with you guys moved in, and you being in a more central location to your hunting areas, that you'll be in the timber with Jim on a regular basis.

I think that we have the coondog training thing worked out....to an extent....Now our issue lies in the deer hunting with our bows. lol
