Joe,
Last night I saw a big boar coon with half a tail in a field we drove down. He took off fast for the woods. I shined him and saw him run about 100 ft into the woods off the edge of the field, he must have been doin' 50 mph!!! I had to drive a little further to park but got the dogs on the track. The male hit the track and took it down in the woods where I saw the coon, but the girl went about 15 ft in the woods and grabbed a pine tree, not a very big one either. I thought she was slick, so I pulled her off of it and sent her to the other two dogs that were further down where the coon went. She turns around and goes back to the slick tree...I get her off of it again. Back she goes, blowin' it down. The other two dogs are bogged down not too far away and I pull her a third time to try and get them some help, meanwhile I just cant believe she is slick treeing!!! She goes right back, so I think maybe I better have a look...might be a possum...nope, she's got the coon!!!! I would have said it was a different one, but it had the bob tail!!! That coon ran a pretty good ways down in the woods and for whatever reason while I was parking the truck he came back almost to the edge of the field and climbed up a pine tree not a foot across...if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it. This little dog is one of the most accurate tree dogs I have ever seen and almost a year old...I bet I don't doubt her no more!!!! How is the rest of this litter doing??? Do you ever get any reports???
