A splendid accurate report--nice price on drill Mike--dewalt is a good brand that's what I have 18 volt alsoand it's been a gooder. I think I've had it goin' on 8 or 10 years and still the same batteries, secret is not over chargin'--that's what I was told. Just got home a little while ago from Versailles, Il. talk about some dandy country for coon huntin'--lots of hills though. Where we took bridge beams to was really out in the sticks, a new bridge on a rock road that may get traveled 25x's a week--box culverts would have been just as good-- but they got Goverment money too blow. Don't forget to accurate report again.

So many kinds I was wondering. Those look like thorney upright ones. Some grow where they have wet feet like a clearcut. Some grow on highground and they are short and seedy. Some grow right at the edge of a pond in the spoil dirt and can stay wet footed or dry but are so tart the sugar needed isn't hardly worth it.

Are they plump and sweet is my question.

lyle, these are sweet enough, just not real plump, the ones in the shade are good but the ones out in the sun are kinda knobby and seedy..got a hot dry spell right when the plants were putting on berries ,I think thats why some of them a like that....accurate report.. pulled in to turn loose and there was 5 coons setting on the feeder...cut loose at 9:10 ,struck and treed at 9:16..two little coons up an oak 50 foot from the feeder.cut loose at 9:25..struck the sow coon that was with the little ones.she didn't go up as easy as the little ones did..she fell off in the big holler and trailed for 35 min.s..went up a side holler ,located, got down ,came back located again ,got down came back located again ,this time she settled on...big leafy oak,,no seen no eyes in that one..came home..10:25..you wouldn't think as much rain as we have had this spring that it wouldn't be getting dry,but back here in the big woods its getting mighty dry..a rain would help..

Yeah it's dry and last month way too wet. A mighty fine accurate report, at least you had a good race and seen some coon. They are most likely gonna hold up when the heat comes back next week. Everybody enjoy the cool down.

8 coons killed on Rt 16

Between Ashmore and Charleston, 2 old ones and rest kittens. What a shame. Most of them crossing the road to cornfield. Hope some are left to run, us walker men need all the help we can get or is it us Bluetick mafia dogs needs help. I am not sure since I have one of each, maybe I need a plott and redtick to, better put list in with my wife Ellen.

Then I can blame or brag on any breed!!LOL Might just have to talk Gut out of his bulldogs and hunt them. Hope all those nice pups out of Seven still doing good.

How's the Moose pups Tony? Saturday have a Steak feed to go to for helping build a guys house a few years back. Framed it and had Roof on in a day, lots of people helping. I am not much of a carpenter but back then could tote alot of lumber and shingles to those who were.

I like that Black and Tan - Leopard hound Drifter a lot. So I can't forget that breed.

My dogs have not been out but 2 times since a ice shortened season. Its not the dogs its me the owner need to get the lead out of shoes.

Coles County Coonhunters sent the check in (Thanks Mark) for kids youth Nationals light and were proud to do so. You have to give back as our youth is where our future lies.

Jack (14) my son, has been working out all summer hard getting ready for football or so he thinks, I am pushing him to workout hard to handle those big strong hounds of mine and carry my and Tony's coon. He made a good mule last year and is even tougher and bigger this year.

People wonder why I hunt with a cane and i say it to help me with my muscle disease and on hills actually its to keep Jack in-line. He will redtick up on you and show teeth ocasionally. LOL We pick on him a bit, hooked a semi live coon to his hide harness last year. Jack is a fullback so he is always taking on bigger people than him and having a brother a brother 7 years older has made him quite tough. Andy and his buddies were constantly rough-housing him and beating on him and he grew up thinking that was just normal. He Is bigger than older brother by quite a bit someday he might just have to whip older brothers tail.

Kids and Dogs, makes life fun, Jeff A.

Morning fellas. Went and bought a DeWalt cordless drill 1/2 inch for $107.00. Needed a new one and those DeWalt don't come down that low much. Came with two batteries and also charger and a case. Deer are moving in the evening good. Had five in the pasture. Since we had to put our old pleasure horse down two weeks ago that grass is really coming on. Rex that was a good report you gave on your hunt. Going this weekend and site my rifle in for squirrel season. Have to find my sub-sonics first. Everyone have a fine day and stay cool.

good late morning ,Mike,I came home for lunch today..going to try and get most of my stuff done this week so I won't have to much for next week with all that heat coming..Dewalt makes some good tools for sure..I have two of their nail guns and a 21 volt drill .got 2 craftsman 28 volt drills too..I like sears guarantee..if it break bring it back..never had a problem with sears in that respect..replaced my broken item no questions ask....you could get more deer to keep the pasture ate down..maybe our old friend Bill would loan you a mule or two to help out.

That cordless was a 18 volt I bought. I had a Craftsman but wore it out. Negative on the mules. Don't want any more four leg animals to take care of except dogs. No more hay to pick up and no more getting the horseshoer over here.

No more poop scoopin' either Mike. Jeff I got in late yesterday that's why I didn't call you will give you a call sometime today or tomorrow. May head over to fairgrounds to check out the old tractors they brought in for this weekend. No huntin' for me till it cools back down--pups are growin' and have got use to kennels. Been watchin' corn fields when coons start eatin' it good pups and one of the older girls will hit 'em---if I don't fizz out first. Talked to Brad Frey the other day one of his pups he kept got hit by a car---didn't make it. And the other guy lost one also, didn't know if it was male or the female.

LOL---I heard that---that's what I don't care much for. One nite when Woo first got Gem and she was still green, we went huntin with Stan Hallett and Ronnie Harlin at airtight in the summer, I swallowed a dang bug 'bout chocked to death.
