Dixie made NiteCh last week and was put in her first Nitech cast last night. She won her cast with 350. Thanks Rod N. for handling her. Rod and Dixie are making a good team. Rod has hunted her in 3 casts so far. First one they lost by tie breaker, second cast they won 1st place registered and the third cast was last night hunting Nitech and getting a cast win. 450 ended up winning Nitech. We were pleased with her performance and the cast win. Maybe next time.

Just got the full story on last nights hunt. Dixie was in a very tough cast of dogs last night.She was by herself all night long, except for one tree when another dog back her after she had been treed for a couple minutes. Also treed and had a pair of coon during a timeout.

A friend of mine has helped raise ole' Bull. Bull is 15 months old, little gamey right now, will tree a coon, nice tree dog, very good mouth and I like his looks very much. Been running loose most his life. It is time to put the reins on Bull and see what he's made of. Bull is out of Harpeth River Blue Jack x Talliant's Blue Honky Tonk. There is a full brother to Bull named Sledge that is about 25 miles north of me that has been doing a good job. Big carrying mouth, They have heard him treed 2.3 miles away. I have been pleasure hunting within 1/4 mile of him and have dogs get treed 400 yrds away and couldn't hardly hear them over Sledge. They say Sledge is making a nice one.

The night before Thanksgiving I got together with Tony and Austin Lane along with Keith Miller. We had a pretty good hunt on fresh snow fall. It was snowing good enough at times it was hard to shine the trees. Tony and Austin hunted Krypt(Jack x Thunder). I hunted Zeus(Jack x Star). Our first 2 trees were together, 1st tree was a big den, 2nd tree together was a coon on the outside. I can't remember the last time I shot a coon out to Zeus, so it was time to let him have a taste. Our last drop of the night would see Krypt and Zeus split 500 yrds apart. Both on dens, we were lucky enough to see Zeus' coon in the den. Krypt was in deeper on a den, blowing the top out. Tony and Austin have been hunting Krypt a good bit and it shows, Krypt is really looking good. This was Zeus 1st night out this season. We had a good time and got some desent pictures, I have posted below.

I have had the chance to take BULL out a couple times. He is not as far along as I was anticipating. I have only hunted him by himself so far. He has a long, long way to go, but there are several things I see in this young dog I really like. So far with me ,He has managed to tree something in a concrete slab pile, he has also put the crunch on a greaser, and treed a couple coon. I gave him one of those coon late last night, and also worked him on a drag. Smart, easy handling dog, I look for him to steadliy improve as he gets hunted more. I like him so far, but he is definaley a work in progress. Bull is out of Jack and a Vaughn Bred female named Honky Tonk.

I have just seen where Sissy has made the current reproducers list once again. I also seen were Sissy has made the Historical reproducers list also. CONGRATS to Sissy and all those that have helped her get there. The ole' gal deserves it. Sissy is out of RC x Jenny. I have had the honor of owning Sissy for the last couple of years and still do. Hopefully, Sissy will be bred back to Jack one more time.

We have several special crosses planned for Jack in the New Year 2015. Hopefully it all works out. We were very pleased to see Jack on the UKC Bluetick Performance Sires list for most of 2014 (April 2014-Current). Jack is a Reproducer. Owners of Top females in the breed, hopefully will take notice and utilize Jack before it's too late. I will help you in any way I can. I am looking forward to a great 2015 for Jack and his pups.

I would like to thank Danny Glista and Dan Rainville for the opportunity to use Sassy and hopefully raise a nice litter of pups. Thanks to Tony Lane and Austin Lane for helping me log in the miles and hours to pick her up and get her to Illinois. Sassy should be in heat in January and will be bred to Jack. Received a text a few days ago from a man that owns 2 females out of Jack x Honky Tonk. He was very pleased, he said they have been running and treeing in this cold weather and having the meat. He also added they are hard tree dogs. He is going to get me some pics of these females and I will post as soon as I get them. I also seen were a young male has recently earned some $KC money out west. Congrats. This young male is out of Jack x Sissy. This puts Jack on the Spring SS Senior and Spring SS Sophomore Sires lists. Hope too see more hitting the hunts and push Jack further up on the different available Sires lists.


I have heard of a possible cross being made here soon on a couple nice Jack dogs. Should be a dandy. A Jack x Thunder male will be bred to a Jack and Sissy female. Half brother half sister cross. Both these hounds are nice. If the cross happens I am going to try and own at least one myself. Of the Jack x Thunder offspring that I know of thats been bred, they have been reproducing very well.

Haven't been able to hunt "Bull" like I need too. But was able to get out a couple nights this weekend. Bull is out of Jack x Honky Tonk-(an old vaughn bred female).

BULL GOES ANOTHER 800YRDS DEEPER ON A BURNING TRACK THAT TAKES HIM TO THE RIVER BANK. WE CUT RAVEN ON INTO BULL. RAVEN TREES AGAIN 600YRDS ON IN. ON OUR WAY TO RAVEN BULL FALLS TREED 75 YRDS FROM HER. RAVEN HAS A SOW COON AND BULL HAS A BIG DEN. BULL DEFINATLEY HAS A MIND OF HIS OWN AND HAS SHOWN HE IS NOT VERY INTERESTED IN COVERING ANOTHER DOG. HE IS LOOKING TO DO HIS OWN THING. Thanks Steve. Bull is out of that Vaughn Bred female I got out of GA. I believe you had a full sister to her, if I remember correctly. He has some Perryman stock in him. Perryman's Rowdy and Perryman's Lady and several more I'm sure you know of on his bottom side.



He still needs a lot of hunting, hopefully he finishes out to a nice hound. I really like him.

Lady was a nice female. Had a male dog mouth. Her grandpa on the top side was from the same cross as Harpeth River Joe (Castleberry's Rebel II), her bottom side was all Texas Tree Banging Casey. . Rowdy was the best hound I've followed of any breed hands down. Good luck and keep the update coming!
