Just wanted to say Thank You again to you and Hunter for letting Krystal handle Dozer last night at the Ohio State Youth Hunt! I'll let Krystal post details when she gets off work. She wasn't ready this morning... It's rough getting home at 4:00 am and turning around and going to work. lol I will say this tho.... He sounded great in those hills last night!!

Last night Hunter handled Dozer Jr in the youth hunt and let me tell you, I'm one proud dad again. At the end of the night we got beat that's just the way it goes. Hunter said she had a good time. Jr had split on the first drop taking 2nd and 1st on a slick. Hunter looked the tree over for a few minutes and called for her minus. The next drop dogs got on someone else's property and time out was called, seconds later Jr was treed by himself again. I didn't even look the tree over. I hate seeing a coon in time out. Jr finished up with 1st and 1st on 2 more coon to end up with 250+. All in all, I'm proud of Hunter for doing a good job handling Jr. She made good calls and took her minus better then most grown men would.


Chrissy,
You guys are more then welcome. It's to bad the judge wouldn't call time out when Dozer got by the road because there was only 15 min left. Kind of ignorant if you ask me. It's a youth hunt, he should be teaching these kids responsibility, being safe, and looking out for the dogs. Not just wanting the hunt time to run out so it can be over.

I have not got to talk to Krystal yet but from what I understand she was either winning or tied when she withdrew for Dozers safety. If I've got it correct, I want to thank you for looking out for my big buddy.

Thank you, Bengie so much for trusting me to handle Dozer. I really am greatful. He looked pretty good last night. Our first drop we were forced to leave the woods by the property owner, so we had no scores there. Our second drop Dozer had 1st and 1st with the meat. I was proud of him. He treed way before any other dogs on that drop. The third drop was not a very good one..Dozer was the only one to open up while I was there, but it was not a good track at all and he ended up coming into us. So I took a minus there. Leaving me at 125+ and tied with a redbone female. Dozer decided to mosey on out by the road and with 15 minutes left I thought to withdraw but decided to call time out instead. The judge told me no, just to keep an eye one him on the Garmin. After about a minute I told the judge I would prefer to just withdraw. Dozer's life was a bit more of a priority than any trophy that could have been won if Dozer would have decided to take off and go tree another coon. All in all I had a lot of fun at the event. This was a good decision made by a young hunter that has learned its not all about trophy's good job Krystal your a heck of a handler. This situation has happened to me before but we get to hunt another day. Congrats on your hunt sounds like you guys were doing great.

I don't have much to report right now. I'm still trying to hunt but I'm in the middle of some major renovations at my house and on top of that having some health problems. I'm hoping to get more reports on Dozer pups. If your hunting one or know someone who is get a hold of me or post about it on here.

Hunted hoe lastnight from 3 hours hit one track treed one coon they didn't seem to be moving last nite.

Jr looked pretty good last night. He made 3 trees and showed me 2 coon. He was split about 20' from Ruby on one of the drops with the meat and she was slick.

Rosie starting to swell up I think she's caught. I been hunting her pretty regular she been accurate showing me coons and some dens treed 3 last night. Sounds as if Jr. is
heating up the timber. Hope all is well. I will be up around the 10th of May I'll get in touch maybe do a couple of drops.

Hi everyone this is Hunter.

Last night my dad and I went to the woods with Choo Choo and Ruby. On the first drop we cut them loose, Ruby got struck and treed and as we were listening Choo Choo let out some barks. I got so excited that I almost started running to the tree!! When we got to the tree we tied off both dogs and started to shine the tree. I found the coon😃. We tried to hiss Choo Choo up on the tree, she was very excited but she wouldn't bark for me. On the next drop Ruby went deep and hit a tough track. She never got treed. We caught the dogs about 800 yards away because they were getting close to some houses. This is only Choo Choo's third time out and I am so excited with her 😀😀😀. I am going to make dad put a box trap out so that we can show her a coon. I can't wait!

Hunted her on Friday made 2 trees one den one on the outside noticed she had pretty good tear on her chest sat. Morning doctored it up and gave her a shot of antibiotics be a few days before we go again

Update on crusher he has been getting hunted 3 to 4 nights a week each time he has been out he has showed a coon he has made a great track dog and a pretty good tree dog. he has got the drive to him 99.9% of the time when u turn him out you find him setting under a coon.

I had Jr in the timber last night for a couple drops. He seems to be getting back on his game. Jr made 2 trees last night and showed a coon in both of them. I'm hoping to hit a couple local hunts this weekend. If he keeps looking like he has and I have a little luck, he'll get finished to NTCH.

Jr won his cast last night and finished to NITE CH. It wasn't the prettiest cast I've ever won but Jr got it done. Jr made 4 trees last night and had 1st on all of them. The first 2 trees he was split and circled. His 3rd tree he was split with a coon. The last tree numb nuts treed a possum and was backed by another dog. There were 5 reg cast last night and Jr got 3rd with a score of 25+.

Our cast final scores were

I cut Dozer and Jr together twice last night before the storms hit. They made it look easy on both drops treeing 2 coon. Although both dogs looked good and it was very close. The old man was still giving Jr some lessons by just edging him out on both ends. Let me say, with these 2 treed together... The VOLUME WAS TURNED UP ALL THE WAY!!!
