Jenny solo

Kent, cut her in some corn on the first drop. nothing. so i put her in the creek off of silerton rd and she went up it about 480 yrds and hit on the ground a couple of times then set in to treeing. i drove around to my property and she was a couple of trees off the creek with the meat. just trying to work the plan friend. Holy Cow! What a night.

I went up to Jon Christmas' house tonight and had a freaking blast. We cut loose right about 9:30p.m. or so. The first time we had to call them in because of some technical issues with my Garmin and shock system. (I.E. me not getting it right before we cut loose / me not turning the thing on) After we got that straightened out it went great. Jack and Jim went down through there and made about a 200 yard circle down to the creek and didn't strike. So we gathered them up and shoot them down another path maybe 50yards to the right of where we were. That is when it got good.

They ended up going over 600yards from where we originally cut loose. They went up the creek and struck a coon. They didn't work it long and Jack locked down on it with Jim not a moment behind him. BOY oh BOY did they sound good running that track. With Jack's deep voice and Jim's tenor voice it was pure music in the timber to listen too.

It was through some flat out hideous country. It was straight up and down and had been cut....so it was nothing but briars, reeds, and saplings for about 400+yards out of 600yards.

It took us a little over an hour to get to the tree. By the time we got there poor Jim had already gotten a bit bored (at 12months old he did a FINE job).

I have to say that I was flat tickled with Jack. He stayed at that tree choppin' it down for over an hour as we made our way through that labyrinth of nasty. The best part is he had the meat!!

I did take like two pictures and a video I'll post it up tomorrow during lunch or right after work. It was so grown up in there you couldn't hardly get back to take a decent picture. lol

Had a great time and would like to thank Jon again for putting up with me and letting me come hunting up in his neck of the woods.

Kent

Had a good night tonight. I took a couple of guys from here at Fort Campbell out with and Jack showed out well.

Jack got in there and ended up treed on that danged den tree again, he did a good job grubbing the track up and working it out. And when he was hooked he was hooked.

If I get a shot at that coon this season he won't make it to the next training season...that's a fact.

Had a night of hard hunting and training.

It was hotter than crap last night (86 at midnight). We had one cold cold cold track that they ended up getting caught on. They ended up messing with a possum that had joeys. She was in a hollow log and was right at the end of it. So we had a bit of a lesson with the collar and he wouldn't even walk by it when it was over. He would go to the end of the chain to get away from it to walk as far as he could away from it.

Oh well, just part of the game. Done a good job of going hunting after that, just nothing moving.

Just got in from a good night of hunting with Tim Hargrove.

Tim brought down Scar and Rusty (Jabo x Darry Bones) and we had a dandy of a time.

All of the dogs got deep. Jack and Scar got hooked and Rusty found his way to them and showed quite a bit of interest at the tree. We shined and saw some limbs moving but couldn't get a bead on him. So we went to my other place and tried again.

This time we had a three way split off the word go that stayed that way till Scar pulled up treed. Good ole Scar had the meat, Rusty was the first of the young dogs there and he treed a good bit. Then Jack rolled in there and put in with Scar. After we had the whole crew there that Rusty pup sure set into treeing good....man he was clickin' 'em off.

Thanks to Tim for coming down and hunting and thanks for letting me see some stuff from the Darry Bones cross.

Kent

Jon & Hillbilly Jim

Jon, good to see a Jabo pup that is thought well enough of to have all his paper work in line for when he is trotted out for the public to see. how about a nice pic of Hillbilly Jim just standing around at the kennel. i for one have not seen him in a few months. Kent says he's a good looking rascel. LWS.

I got a call from a guy this past weekend...I was out of range and the number did not come up for me to call him back. He left a message, saying who he was and that he had a Darry Bone pup... Sorry, but I could not make out the name. He said the pup was doing real nice.

Maybe it was this same man? I was real excited about hearing from someone else on this litter!! Even more excited to actually see one on here! Thanks for posting the pics Kent!

If this is the same guy that called me, hey, thanks!! Sorry I didn't call back and talk with ya, I just didn't get the number and the voice mail was fuzzy.

Good luck!! Darry Bone has made herself a permanent resident here with us. She's a real sweet lil gal!

KENT....could ya label the pics on who was who..I like to file the pics, but don't want to have the names wrong.

Just a Jobo junky saving his pup pics!

He's a good looking dog and that's a fact. Got a good mouth, a good nose, good instinct, and a good personality to go with it. Can't ask more that that.

I saw your sticker on that picture message Jon. That's a good looking sticker my man. I'll shoot you a call later on. I'm two hours behind you so you can call as late as you like....I'll probably be up as there are a ton of fireworks and people here today.

Be good and I'll see you when I get back. I'll need to hunt something bad...20 days with no dogs in the timber...I'll be having withdraws.

Jack

I carried Jack to hunt him with granddaddy tonight. He brought his 2yro male dog and a 3yro female that he has been workin with.

We cut all 3 loose at a big pond, and Jack went huntin right off while the other 2 kinda mess around. Finally Jack got struck with a bawl and started workin down the fence row on the back side at about 3 miles per hr by himself. The other 2 dogs went with granddaddy back to the truck.
Jack worked the track and never said another word until he located twice 75yds in and then changed over to a steady chop. 1st strike and 1st tree with the meat lookin down.
He did a great job and granddaddy was very impressed with how quick he moved the track and got treed, He looked real good tonight.

Grandaddy's 2yro male dog Buck

Couldn't ask for nuthin no better.

Thanks for lettin me hunt him Kent, I really appreciate it.

Jon I can't thank you enough for hunting that Jack dog while I'm gone. I couldn't be prouder of that dog right now. He went hunting without the company coming with, for you and your Grandad. I'm glad he did you proud. See you when I get home.

P.S. Thanks for the pictures.

Why on earth will people own a freaking house cat? Here is a scene from today...my mother in law asks "Where is the cat?" Now we were supposed to have left an hour prior to go camping. She then commences to look for this dang cat for over an hour. The cat that was "missing" is an indoor/outdoor cat...the only one of the two that has any resemblance of sense.

So after an hour of searching she finds the thing outside asleep in the shed. God forbid she put some food out for the stupid thing and leave. We are only going for one night.

Anyone else have a cat lover in their family that boggles your mind?

Jon took Jim and Jack the other night. Jim and Jack went hunting but they couldn't get anything lined out. It was a good night for the pups to learn about some tracks they couldn't figure out. They did their best to line it out but just couldn't get it done that night. Oh well, still a good night for the pups to learn.

Thanks again for hunting Jack while I'm gone. I owe you one Jon.
