Good mornin, hope all is well, cloudy and cool this morning, rain suppose to be gone for a couple days. Got another inch and 8 tenths yesterday, we are slowly catching up. Good Lord stopped the drizzle during the graveside part of the funeral yesterday ( lets you know you are standing amongest good people ).

Went over to Edison Sat. afternoon to judge the bench show for them and they had gotten 5 inches last week, we are up to around 4 including yesterday.

It's Republican.
I stopped by the auto dealership yesterday and took a new truck for a test drive. The salesman, wearing an Obama lapel pin, sat in the passenger seat describing the truck and its options.

"It has all of the latest technology," he chimed. "For example, the seats blow warm air on your backside in the winter and cool air in the summer heat."

"This must be a Republican truck," I commented.

What do you mean this is a 'Republican' truck?" he replied with a perturbed look.

"Well, if it were a Democrat truck, the seats would blow smoke up your butt year-round."

I had to walk back to the dealership.

Egg Gravy

This was a favorite meal of farmers to fix during the 'Great Depression'.
Most of the ingredients were on the farm and could feed a large family.

DESCRIPTION:

Egg Gravy over biscuit or fried potato's

INGREDIENTS:

3 Eggs
Bacon grease and or butter
Flour
2 cups of milk
Salt & pepper
Toast
Potato's

DIRECTIONS:

Scramble eggs in skillet and cook until done. Add enough grease and butter to soak 4 big tablespoons of flour. Stir in flour. Add milk, salt and pepper. Stir until thick.

Blackberry Wine

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In some mountain families making "Blackberry Wine" was a tradition.
The wine was usually served only for special occasions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gather six to eight gallons of wild blackberries, wash them and put them in a big container. Mix in five pounds of sugar and cover the container with a cloth, fastened securely so that bugs can't get in but the mixture can still breathe. Let sit for eight to ten days.

Then strain the mixture through a clean cloth, squeezing the pulp so that all the juice is removed. Measure how many gallons you have. For every gallon of juice, add one and a half pounds of sugar. Let it work off. When it stops (bubbling has stopped on top), strain it again and measure the juice, adding another one and a half pounds of sugar to each gallon. When it finishes working this second time, bottle it.
