Yeah I think he found Jesus on the subject last night. The tool I used last night looked a bit like a stick....it just had buttons on it and could make him see the light when he was out of my reach. =)

Took ol rex and bones out treed two. One kitten and one adult. They were about 75 yards from one tree to the next. Struck bones first and rex second (as always) but the old dog showed him how its done. I will tell u this as Bones matures into a nice jabo offspring he will have a nice horn! It rings out in the timber nicely. I guess I should mention he aint afraid the dark on his own either. Hes starting to venture out by hisself. See you guys soon.

Jim

Had Jim out last night for the first time in over a week.
All in all he done a descent job. He was a little slow to go huntin, but somebody was shootin off fireworks across the country and he wasn't real pleased about that, but then he finally figured out that they wasn't gonna kill him, and he started to do more huntin, and less spookin. He finally struck in about 40yds out and worked it hard, opened good on it, but couldn't get it lined out. Towards the end after he lost it for sure, he would come back to where he struck in, and jus stand there and let out a couple long long bawls, and then go try again.

I still have yet to find any kittens wonderin around, and it's dry around here. We been havin some good thunder storms but no rain to go with them.

I have some pics I need to get posted of Jack, Jo-ann, and Jim also.

I'm a bit late on this update but here it goes:

On Monday I took my son Zavier, Jack and Jo-Ann to the timber. We met Andy Sloan out there with Duke and we cut 'em loose. They shoot off the lead like their tails were on fire. All three got struck and all three got treed. Jo-Ann did a nice job on that track and tree.

We tried and tried and tried to get to a place to even see the top of the tree and there just wasn't a place in the wold to do it from. Oh well. We'll get him to look next time.

Zavier did a good job tromping through that thick stuff we were walking in. I'll post some pictures later on tonight.

Here are the pics:

Zavier and Jack

Had a dang good night of huntin' tonight. Jon Christmas came down and brought Jim with him. We went out to the Hog Farm and cut the three Jabo pups loose.

Jo-Ann struck in first and eventually the other two knuckle heads joined in. The worked the track for a good long bit there and ended up treed about 600yards or 700yards from where we cut them loose. It was a big old tree that had limbs broke out and had a bit of a hollow sound to it as well. We snapped off tulip tree saplings around it till it looked like an elephant had been in there. If we hadn't done it we would have never been able to see the tree at all.

All three did a good job both on the track and the tree. We've got some good ones from tonight that I'm sue we will get up on here in the next couple of days.

Till next time.

Kent

Had a good night all in all. The moon was super bright and the wind didn't die down here till near 9p.m.

Jack busted in there and hunted for 2 hours covering just over 3 miles of ground and making good solid hunting effort, no straight lining out of the country. I finally walked around till I got within about 400yards of him and called him in. He came right on with no issues at all.

Can't ask for much more out of a good pup than to go hunting, and come when called.

Kent

Last night

Kent, got out about 11:30 pm. checked the spot out at the property and feeder was empty. Jenny and Jewel checked the creek and went a few hundered yards but did not strike. left there and went to move a feeder. it was empty too. kept the dogs in the truck and went to the next feeder. it was empty too. i turned them loose there as i was going to check this one and they went about 350 yrds and struck. Jenny made a good tree and treed hard. plus points! it was around 1:00am. got to get some feed and reload today. LWS.

Well that hour stuff didn't work out. lol

My dad, who just had back surgery, needed help with his therapy so I helped him out till he was done.

I finally got to the timber closer to 10pm.

Jack got struck and treed with a quickness tonight. He treed good but I just couldn't get a good bead on that tree.....when it comes to tree selection I've had horrible luck as of late.

Here are some pics of tonight.

Jack did pretty decent at American Redbone Days

He got to take home some hardware for best male pairs in the hunting show.

He also gave the GRCH class all they wanted at the Saturday show.

As for the timber he did good as well. He didn't disappoint me, but I may have disappointed him on a call or two.

That will be his last appearance for some time. I'll be putting it on him hard to get him rock solid for a straight run to NTCH and GRNITCH.

See you guys in the timber.

Kent

Had some good hunts here lately.

Thursday and Friday were two good nights of hunting.

Jack got struck in and carried a good track to the tree and had the meat Thursday.

Friday he carried a good track and he treed good. The tree was a booger and I couldn't have found a mountain lion in it if I had to. It was a rough one for sure.

Well went once this week and am going tonight.

This week was a good drop. Jack got treed with a kitten in a mess of a tangle, but the kitten ended up looking after he got to the very top.

Good night for Jack.

Jack did a fantastic job tonight. He struck a cold cold track and grubbed it up. He ended up treed in a known den tree. He pushed that track through some very thick stuff and over 500 yards. He treed and stayed there as I fumbled my way through that darned mess. lol

It was a good learning night for Jack and I'll post some pics tomorrow during the day.

PICS
