Smoking hot on a cold, moonbright night. He does super on snow and ice with a few feet of frost in the ground. Absolute coondog!

Boone is doing a nice job for his owner. Hunts deep alone and is showing plenty of coons in his trees. Nice work, Brad.

btt FRITO

Guys this is what it takes to own a winner.
Rick and Jay you have done a great job with Cowboy and Fargo.
Wish the best for them both.
For anyone wanting to cross a good female to Frito I would reccomend him to anyone. I have seen and heard the mouths on these hounds. I have hunted with Fargo and he is everything Rick and Jay tell ya. Get deep and lonely and have the coon and that was when he was 14 moths old. I hunted a littermate to cowboy and Fargo that I really liked, and his name was Tucker. Big mouth, cut him anywhere and kicked dirt. Where I hunted him we had coon and he was accurate. Dog did lots of good work for me.

Good to hear.

I'm still trying to find a good solid female.
I got one that is off Sweat It and that Brandi2 female you hunted with off Trackman that Donnie and I are half on.
I plan on finishing her to Nitech and see where we go from there.
I know Donnie is wanting to cross her on his Stud dog off Trackman and Lot Lizard first. Then I'd say I will be making a trip up north. How old is Frito?

Have enjoyed hearing from u Davey over the last few weeks . Glad u are enjoying Fargo. . It is nice to hear somone else compliment your dog and anjoying the fruits of your labors.. I have a pile of time into that dog and I realy like him as well...and yes your statement about Frito is correct. He is over looked . I will go out on alimb and say that Frito is probably as good or better than anything alive today as a coondog. And he is reproducing his qualities. FOR SURE !!!

Thought I better keep this alive. Frito’s doing a nice job on the coons again this summer. We’re hunting the northern swamps and as much I try to stay away from the swamps the dog knows where to find coons, and “where” is around water this time of year.

Jay... I'd sure like to see Fargo back to his old self. I hunted him in one nite hunt last year, and it happened early last spring. There was at least 12" of hard crusted snow on the ground that night; one handler withdrew for the hard going on the snow. All the dogs had bleeding feet. Fargo struck a track late in the hunt along a frozen creek and trailed it a couple hundred yards along the creek bank and then up the bank and another couple hundred yards into the old-growth cottonwood timber. He rolled out two big locates and I put him on the card without hesitating.

We were already .5 mile into the timber before he treed, and then we had to slog our way through the crusted snow deeper to reach his tree. When we finally got there we found Fargo on a big cottonwood with a coon laying flat on a limb near the top of the tree. The moon was bright that night and I was happy to see him do his work on a tough night, and do it with witnesses.

I thought that was about as cool as the night you were handling Fargo and he treed that coon for us on the Sheyenne River. I recall looking at the thermometer at the truck before we walked to his tree and it said 0 degrees, and if you recall the snow was drifted to the top of the barbed wire fence where we walked into the timber to reach his tree.

Hopefully, we'll get to see Fargo go again in early spring. I could just do without all the snow and cold for one spring hunt. But I'll follow a dog like Fargo any night. Good luck with him!

That's right Rick. .I hope he will be full strength as soon as this weather breaks. You may have to haul him to the Ozarks when you go this winter to check his oil...
