My 1st blue male dog was out of Joe. The dog was Gr CH GR Nite Ch. McGinnis Blue Bandit. Sold me on blues for life. I have owned many hounds over the years out of Joe. Sure wish I could take a walk back in time and own some more. Joe gets my vote. good luck to all. thanks Dave McGinnis.

Matt, Nice video of your young female. She looks and sounds like she is well on her way. Whenever the time comes and you are ready to breed to Jack, just let me know and I will do my best to help make it happen. Take care, Chris

Jack pups updates

I received another pic of Skinner getting it done. Skinner is doing a very good job in the woods.I am told Skinner will be entered in his first UKC hunt tonight. Good luck tonight to Jason and Skinner.

I have also received a pic of Slim treed. Slim treed his first coon just weeks ago. Slim is starting to get it put together and is looking and sounding good. Clay, Slim is looking good, keep him in the woods.

I have also recently spoke with one of my partners about a nice young female(Dixie) we own out of Jack. I am told she has been looking good and will be put in her second hunt tonight. Good luck Tony and Dixie.This is the first blue dog my partner has owned. He is a walker man for over 20 years I would guess. He tells me she is the fastest track dog on a running coon he has ever owned. He is well pleased with her and plans on putting her in a few bigger hunts this spring and summer. Hopefully we will have her at Bluetick Days this year. She has also shown to be an excellent mother that has reproduced some impressive early starting pups that are nice looking too boot.

Harpeth River Blue Jack is a grand sire now also. I know of 2 litters out of Jack females. One of those litters is out of my co-owned female(Dixie). We have gotten excellent reports on these pups which are only 5 months old now. The other litter, I am starting to read about some of those pups doing well also. It is very pleasing to see the strong reproduction traits continue to be
passed on in this stock that I have been directly involved with for 5 generations now. Wow! Time seems to go by so fast.

THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HUNTED WITH WOODY SINCE MY FRIEND HAS OWNED HIM. I THOUGHT WOODY DID A NICE JOB GETTING ALL 3 1ST STRIKES AND A 1ST TREE WITH THE COON. MY FRIEND HAS TALKED ABOUT SELLING HIM, I HOPE HE CHANGES HIS MIND AND KEEPS ON HUNTING HIM. HE ALSO OWNS A MALE PUP OUT OF JACK X SISSY, WOW! WHAT A MOUTH THAT PUP HAS LOUD POWERFUL MOUTH, GOOD LOOKING PUP ALSO. I MAY HAVE TO SEE ABOUT TRYING TO OWN HIM IN THE FUTURE.

BEEN HUNTING SOME. I HUNTED WITH BLITZ LAST NIGHT AND WOODY A WEEK AGO. HAD A GOOD TIME HUNTING WITH NATE, J-BOB AND RED. ALSO BEEN HUNTING KRYPT HE HAS BEEN LOOKING DECENT CONSIDERING HE HAS NOT BEEN HUNTED FOR A MONTH OR SO. LAST 3 TIMES OUT WITH KRYPT HE HAS BEEN ON 9 TREES, OF THOSE 9 TREES, 7 HAD COON, 1 DEN AND 1 SLICK. BLITZ AND KRYPT TREED 2 TOGETHER LAST NIGHT, WE SEEN THE COON IN BOTH TREES. WOODY AND KRYPT TREED 2 SINGLES AND A DEN LAST WEEK TOGETHER. I THOUGHT BLITZ, WOODY AND KRYPT LOOKED GOOD ON THESE HUNTS. THEY ARE ALL 3 OUT OF JACK.
ALSO TALKED TO A MAN LAST WEEK THAT HAS A JACK X SISSY FEMALE THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN THE WOODS 6 OR 7 TIMES IN HER LIFE. SHE MADE 2 TREES WITH THE OTHER DOGS THE OTHER NIGHT. SHE IS HUNTED IN PRETTY TOUGH COUNTRY. HOPEFULLY, I WILL GET SOME PICS OF HER AS SHE CONTINUES TO PROGRESS.

Young Jack x Sissy female being hunted in deep south GA. Seems to be progressing more each time out.She is looking and sounding good on the wood. Thanks for the update and pictures, keep them coming. Hope she makes a good one.

Nate and Blitz(Jack x Thunder) won some more PKC money last night. Should bump him up a few spots in the Bred and State standings.

CONGRATS TO NATE AND BLITZ

Nate and Blitz won some money Friday night. This win should push them up in the Bred and State state standings a little more. They are making a run for a "truck ticket" Good luck and keep on winning.

Big thanks to J- Bob for hunting and handling my my young hound out of Jack named Krypt.

Just recently had the opportunity to get Bash back. Bash is a young hound I raised out of Harpeth River Blue Jack x Dual Grand Anderson Fox Creek Penny. A hide hunter has had him and has been very pleased with him. He is moving because of his job and just won't have time to hunt. Glad to have him back.

~~~BBOA Hall of Fame Nominee~~~
BBOA Hall of Fame Nominee
GRNTCH GRCH HARPETH RIVER BLUE JOE is up for the BBOA Hall of Fame this year. I am pulling for ole Joe and hope that those out there that believe Joe to be deserving of the Hall of Fame also cast a vote for Joe before Bluetick Days. Joe will need the votes as there are several other worthy hounds on the ballot. Joe has had a tremendous impact on the breed. Regardless how you may vote we want to thank you for your consideration and regardless of how the vote turns out Harpeth River Blue Joe has always been a Hall of Fame hound to us.
Where it all started for me, Dual Grand Harpeth River Blue Joe and Howard Ford.
UKC BLUETICK PERFORMANCE SIRES LIST
It was nice to see Jack made the Performance Sires list for the April issue of Coonhound Bloodlines. It's early in the competition season, but I believe we will see Jack make the list again throughout the year. A big thanks from Mike and Myself to those that are hunting Jack pups. You are a big part of Jack's success.
Jack pupdate.
It sounds as though there will be a few Jack pups at the Spring SS this year. I believe at least 2 in the Baby Stakes and 2 in the Junior Division. There maybe more, but these are the ones I know have talked about being there. Jack pups have placed 2 years in a row at the Baby Stakes and had a quarterfinalist in the Sophomore Division last year. Hopefully it will be another successful year this year for Jack pups.
To my knowledge there are at least 10 different pups out of Jack that have UKC hunt wins/places and several cast wins in PKC with money won. Some of those are also titled in UKC and PKC. There maybe more, but these are the ones I know of for sure.
HARPETH RIVER BLUE JACK- PERFORMANCE AND SS SIRE
Work has kept me away from the hounds, phone and computer. It looks like work may let up a little and I can get back to working some young hounds. Got a tip on a young male for sale out of Jack that has a loud mouth and doing a good job, just needs singled out. He is out of Jack x Dixie(BoBo x Ann). I may check him out when I get the chance. Heard that a Walker dog man said he will be a good one. I bought back Bash(Jack x Penny) male. A buddy of mine has been hunting him and likes him. He hunted him at the Thursday night hunt at the Reunion and had a dead cast. He has been laid up for a while and is now getting back into shape. He will be in the winner's circle before long. I have heard from a few folks latley, it been hard to catch me. I have received a couple videos of some Jack pups treed. I will try and post on here. The Spring SS has come and gone. Jack had a few pups participate this year in the Junior Division. Nate and Blitz won an early round cast and caught a bad break at the end of another. I was told some big winning Walkers were impressed with Blitz. That is always good to hear. I was a bit dissapointed that there wasn't a Jack pup entered in the Baby Stakes this year. There was suppose to be at least 2 show up that were more than capable of winning it. Family and work comes first and keeps us from doing the things we like to do. Hopefully, the Jack pups will show up strong at next years Spring SS. I'm hearing there maybe a couple show up at this years Fall SS. Jack pups have been off to a good start in UKC events this year. I look forward to hearing more about them winning as the year goes on. May try and have Bash and Krypt at Bluetick Days this year. I haven't been to Bluetick Days since it was last in Palestine, IL, thats been a few years ago. We had big plans of breeding Jack's sister(Sally) to a top stud. Thats not going to happen, Sally died a couple weeks ago.
BELOW ARE 2 VIDEOS OF JACK PUPS GETTING IT DONE IN THE TIMBER. THANKS GUYS FOR THE UPDATES AND VIDEOS AND PICTURES.
Talked with my buddy that's hunting Bash yesterday. He is trying to get him in shape for Bluetick Days. Bash has been having to get deep lately. Last time out, they got him off the tree over a mile in from where they dropped him, he was treed with a coon . I delivered Krypt to my buddy yesterday. Hopefully he can get him back in shape too. Working long hours and the night shift, the hounds have had to sit. I really appreciate Tony and his son taking the time to get them hunted up for me(thanks guys).
Got to hunt with Bash(Jack x Penny) and Krypt(Jack x Thunder)Friday night. We hunted them together and hunt them by themselves and together again. I thought it was a pretty good night of hunting for these young hounds. Seen the hounds tree coon together, seen them tree coons alone. Seen them split treed 20 yards apart. Seen them tree a couple dens. Seen them tree a couple slicks. Never ran trash and never babbled, good honest strikes.Seen Krypt take on a couple tracks that were tough and took him longer than I would have liked, but he got treed off them. I got Bash back home now and hope to hunt him a little and get a few pics. My friend Tony and his son are going to hunt Krypt some. Plans were to hunt Bash and Krypt at Bluetick Days. Not sure if I'm going to have them there, we'll see. Heard were Carl and Rascal had a Nitech cast win last weekend but was beat out by another cast by 25.
May 2014 Coonhound Bloodlines (Bluetick Issue)
Just got my May(Bluetick Issue) of Coonhound Bloodlines. I was very happy to see Harpeth River Blue Jack owned by Mike Dunn at #1 on the UKC Performance Points Earned Top 5 Bluetick Sires List. Jack was also on this list last month tied for #2 spot. It may not seem like much or mean that much to some, but it is an accomplishment we are proud of and means something to us. Once again I must thank those out there that own or are hunting Jack pups. I have said it before and will say it again, you are a big part of Jack's success, and Mike and myself thank you for being a part of it. We wish you continued success in the future. This May Issue also showed 2 Jack pups making it to the Individual Performance Points Earned List. I would also like to point out that McGinnis' Blue Thunder is #1 on the UKC Performance Points Earned Top 5 Bluetick Dams List, who is also owned by Mike Dunn.
I would like to CONGRATULATE my good friend Mike Dunn in Alabama and his 2014 UKC Performance and PKC SS Sire - Harpeth River Blue Jack for hitting the #1 spot on the UKC Performance Points Earned Top 5 Bluetick Sires List.
CONGRATS CHRIS & MIKE!
THAT HAS TO BE A GOOD FEELING SEEING ALL YOUR HARD WORK PAYING OFF. YOU GUYS STARTED WITH A PLAN AND STUCK WITH IT, AND THATS SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF. NICE JOB. IT SEEMS THE BLUETICK ARENA IS BECOMING POPULATED WITH SOME NICE YOUNG DOGS FROM JACK. I SURE DO LIKE YOUR KRYPT DOG. HE SOUNDS AND LOOKS LIKE A GOOD ONE. I STILL SAY THAT THE BEAST 'ZEUS' IS THE BEST LOOKING TREE DOG OF ANY PICTURES ON THIS BOARD. LOL
FOR ALL THE GUYS THAT HAVE NEVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO MEET, OR HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH CHRIS. I WILL SAY THAT YOU WILL NOT FIND A NICER MORE HONEST PERSON TO DEAL WITH IN THE COONHOUND WORLD. REAL GLAD TO SEE THINGS GOING YOUR WAY, BUDDY. ONE OF THESE DAYS WE WILL GET TOGETHER FOR A HUNT AND NOT JUST TALK ABOUT IT. TAKE CARE.
