3Rivers Blue Beaux
Beaux was put in the WTDA world hunt and held his own against the other dogs in the cast (UKC Grandnites). He should have won the cast but a handling mistake and calling him treed while he was trailing lost it for him.
On a good note... he drew no minus on his own part. Had one in a hole and the rest you had eyes.
Beaux's style... good mouth, runs track with a short bawl, big locate when hunted alone or with familiar dogs, sometimes throws it if hunted with strange dogs sometimes not, rolls it over to 80-90 BPM. Good track speed. Will not back a dog unless he is treed first (has been like this from day one) and will tree with any dog if they back him. We have had him bitten on a tree and he just kept treeing. He is pull proof and seems to pull dogs to him every hunt. He was going only about 700-800 yards but is starting to range as far as he needs to find a track. (He is just over 2 years old)
He also lives in the house and does great, so anyone who says a coondog can not be part of the family and do its job has never had the right dog. Super level headed dog, very smart, and does everything we ask of him.
This was the first serious cast he has been on but will be put in more this year and pushed next year.
