sounds like you and hannah had a good hunt. she comes from what looks to be a good cross from two top proven dogs. hope to get out with you, hannah and rip tide soon. he is one nice hound, hope he gets his oppurtunity with some nice females as i no you will not breed just to make pups. good luck with your jet 5 and wendy cross, hope it really clicks for you.

Roy Hanna treed her first coon last night by herself (8) months old. No record but she has the makings and desire. I made four dumps and made two trees. One I'm not sure on! LOL! The second tree did not have a leaf on it and thought she was crazy but sure enough she had it, only ran about 50 yards out of a corn field and straight to the river. Waiting for her hunt to pick up, I like the tail gate and she will get use to that, it will come!

It is now 3:00 AM and time to hit the hay. Just got in from the hunt at Salem Ill. They held the Super Stakes there this week and they had a $60.00 open hunt we hunted in tonight. Corey hunted Pockets and she won her cast, two first strikes and two first trees and one second tree and second strike, drew no minus points. Ended up tied and got bet out of final four by tie breaker. He at least got most of his entry back by winning his cast. He drew some very tough hounds tonight. All you can do is win your cast and hope for the best, there is always another night.

Took a trip last night to Casey Ill. to watch a very good young man play some football. Corey, Jerry and myself went to watch Max D. son Layden play in the playoffs, they won and the boy did a monster job in the game gaining yards and making tackles, only thing he did not do very well was cheer lead! LOL. Thanks goes out to Max Jr., Max Sr. and Layden for taking us hunting. Max took Indy and two females, not sure they have a name but will sure knock the wood down! Brought back a 4 month old pup out of the same cross as Riptide as well. Had a good little hunt and did not get home and too bed until 4:00AM. Bought a new camera so I hope Corey gets the pictures loaded today, give him time with to figure it out. Good luck for the next two weeks Layden!

Jerry Good luck with the female pup. Good to see all of u again! I think a week of getting those 2 females of mine and dads some coon will really get them cranking! Layden says thanks for coming to his game. He had to go see his Uncle Aaron the Chiropractor today after that last carry his neck was out his back was out and he had hurt his knee in the last game and so he checked his knee and had a twisted meniscus and got it all back in line!!! They somehow had his head twisted around hard enough his cheek pad came unsnapped from his helmet and was laying on the field!!

Oh yeah Mark they do have names! Lol Dads female is Daisy and mine was named Cleta. There is a story behind her name. I guess the first coon she ever treed by herself was right next to an old cemetery and the that name was on the grave she was treed next to!!

Mr. Bluetick 250 That is the same tree! Tide and Cleta was on same tree along with 2 other dogs! They was all on same tree!! I can assure u that it wasn't a cage coon and I can also assure u that Cleta is not a pup she's 3. I can assure u that any of the 4 dogs that was on that tree is very capable of treeing their own coon!!!. The others was all tied back at that time. I think what he was saying is that here is my female Cleta pointing out she was the one in the pic by herself! Not real sure of your intent of ur comment but don't judge my hounds. I have bred and raised almost every hound I've walked behind and I don't know if u know or have been with the RipTide dog but he can keep up with the best of them! Sorry ahead of time if I have took this the wrong way.

i would think that most breedings are made with the intention of equaling or bettering the sire and dam selected in a cross. Max, Blaze is settling in and doing fine. thanks again.

Max / Jerry and Gerald we got us a new ride today so we should be able to run the wheels off the hounds once the crops are all in. Knees got to bad to keep all night long but this will help. Changed out the new tires that came on it and put on some bigger 8 ply tires, less flats! Only thing left to do is strap in the box. Going to give a run tonight! It has a front and back window, 4500 lbs. wench, roof and doors on the way.

Well we took Hanna and Riptide tonight and Corey was kind a Shocked about how Hanna did tonight, hell he thought maybe she has turned the corner. LOL! Hanna did very good on the first two dumps but the third dump they fell in there about 875 yards and she blew the tree down all the way to her and after we got there. Season is right around the corner and we will get her a few more coons down and it should get her clicking on all cylinders! I knew getting her out a few nights by herself was the right thing to do, more of the same coming. Hunted the big Ohio River and the coons were really moving for a full moon.
Hanna 8.5 months old in these pictures, coon was hanging real high! LOL!

Terry it worked out fine, places you want to turn loose that is too far now are good to go! Use to be if you make one tree normally and we would go back since you were already roughly a mile back in there. Now you can ride and ride, it is a little more fun and a lot better hunting. Once all the crops get out it will be that much better. Hated to go this route but the old knees are not what they use to be, hope to prolong surgery as long as I can!
