Trevor,sounds like your dogs are cranking.How mouthy on track are Ike and Jam?

Thanks Matt. They both give good mouth on track unless its not fresh. Hoter tracks they bark pretty consistent but bad tracks you just hear them here and there and then pow treed. Ike often falls treed if you keep re-casting in the same woods.

If Ike is giving good mouth on track I can promise you it won't be long he can push a coon like no other dog I have owned.

Picked up back to back Nite Ch wins on Jam this weekend. She treed several coon and was alone on every one. I didn't get the scorecard back to the club on Saturday night but she earned the win. That gives her 4 wins in 5 hunts.

I was an hour from the club and it was 1 30 am. I wouldn't have got home til around 4 am for the second straight night so I decided not to make the drive back to the club.

I was hoping to attend English days but couldn't get it worked out.

Well I have been hunting Ike and getting him ready to put in some hunts. He has been looking as good as ever treeing coon with great speed and accuracy.

I found him dead this morning and I have no clue what caused it. I think he had a heat stroke because he seemed like he felt great while hunting the last couple weeks. Ike was a special dog with speed and coon sense like none I have seen. He never ran or treed anything but a coon and win the majority of casts he was in. He had one fault that kept him from being entered in many big hunts. He loved to chew on the tree and that was his only fault.

I have spent more time following and chasing Ike the last 3 years then I have spent with any of my friends. He could tree coon after coon in the blink of an eye. Never have I hunted with one as fast.

Dang I hate to hear it Trevor. I know you truly enjoyed hunting your Ike dog & I enjoyed reading about your hunts. He sounded like he was a special one, & those kind don't come in bunches. It sure stings when you lose those kind.

As has already been said, keep your head up & keep on plugging. You have done a fine job with your hounds. You already have the key ingredient down pat for any hound you own ... you HUNT them!

Thank you guys for the kind words. I walked many miles behind Ike and spent a lot of time hauling him around. You sit back and think about how much time you have truly spent with a dog and it's something else.

A teenager that hunts with me took it harder then me. He hunts with me a lot and he loved Ike as much as I did.

I have been hunting Jam the past few nights getting her ready for some hunts coming up. The woods all have water everywhere but coon have been moving. She has been doing a really nice job on some long tracks and some pop up kitten coon.

Mosquitos are so bad right now that it makes it very hard to take any pictures.

Picked up Jams 5th win to finish her to Grand tonight. She was in 8 Nite Ch casts and won 6 of them. I'm proud of her we have put the work in. She won't be 2 until November.

Now we will try to get qualified for the world hunt.
