Brutus pup
My male pup out of Brutus won his 1st bench show tonight at nine months old. Got a best in class, best in breed, and won best of show. I like him alot and cant wait to start huntin him. Wish i would have had a camera at the show.

I was very surprised to hear with 2 other dogs he went off on his own the first time ever being casted with strange dogs. Also great to hear that he didn't come into your shelly female while she was treeing. Finally my dad told me he treed his own that night, nothing fancy but it was the first one he has treed in the wild and it was split. after only treeing 2 caged coon in his life we can't expect perfection only progress. He's only 13 months old.
I never got to ask my dad since we work opposite shifts but did he tree up on the wood or sitting on the ground?
Thanks for taking them out and I look forward to hearing more updates soon.

From what Damon has told me this cross has produced dogs that can tree coon. My male from the same cross just won best of show at the stein memorial 2 shows with two best of shows which isn't bad for a dog bred to tree coon.

He is a first strike dog opens as soon as he smells a coon.Opens often with a bawl. Has apove average track speed locates a couple times followed by a steady chop. Stands on tree if dogs behave if not backs up a sits on butt. His oldest pups are 14 months old they have go have been with one 8 months old or older that stands at your feet they like to go. They have big mouths and so far are gritty. He has only been bred 3 times one litter is 14 months old second is 10 months old and I have a litter 1 week old.
