I will maybe give it a go tonight. I have to be ready to hunt with Clifford Myer Saturday night. We hunt once a year and he keeps me out all darn night long. We hunt two sets of dogs. Plus I think it may rain Saturday night. Oh joy for me. I don't like hunting in the rain.
I must admit I enjoy hunting one dog at a time. Maggie is slippng up on those ole ringtails and putting them up without fail. It sure is different hunting a tight mouth dog. Kind of boring actually. I like hearing the strike and how they push Rickey to the tree.
She may possibley be my first Dual Grand female that I have pushed in the hunts since I started competition hunting. We shall see if I can get her there over the spring and summer.

First drop Maggie went 600 yard and got treed while I was talking on the phone to Charlie Wyatt. She made one bark on the ground before she treed. She had a nice boar coon. I cut her loose again and was going to skin the coon but she treed again about 200 yard down the ditch and had another coon. She did open about 6 times on this hot track out of the corn field. I hung up the coons and cut her loose while I started to skin the first one she blew up treed again 300 yards down around a pond. I finished skinning the two I had and went to her and she had another one. I hit it a few time and it made all sorts of noise in the tree and I finally got it down to Maggie. Hank Taber called and just in time to hear Maggie fighting that screaming coon. I called it a night. I saw 4 more sitting up on the way out of the woods so I will go back again and see if I can get them up the bush.

He hunted his young Rambler male and a pup off Daniel Morton's Mann dog
I hunted Maggie
First drop Maggie struck but Rambler got her on the tree. Coon seen
Second drop Maggie opened on tree Rambler backed her coon seen.
Third turn out Rambler opened and treed. Maggie split treed from him about 25 yards she had 4 coon in her tree.
Rambler didn't have his coon this time. I just got home and I'm tired it's 1:15 am
Pup didn't do much but did muzzle a tree but didn't fight any coons.

He hunted a walker Annie I hunted Maggie and Craig hunted a Uchtman Luke female.

We treed two singles and one slick tree. Maggie had two first trees with the coons and last on the slick and it took her way to long to cover because she didn't want to be there.

Al Wortman is looking for a blue female broke to hunt

I still remember Wortman's Blue Judy from back when I was 13 years old hunting with Al almost every night.

Went to New Haven Mo. Hunted with Clifford Myers
First drops we hunted Maggie, Sounder and his male off BluKnight. Tropper didn't do much but Sounder and Maggie went 1.3 miles only to end on a den tree
Next drop we turned them loose again 1.2 miles den tree.
3 Drop hunted Maggie and Trooper. Maggie struck and drove a track 600 yards only to end in a den tree.
4 Th drop Maggie just bayed and not good she had a diller which we had a brief training session and we load and change dogs

Took Magic, Maggie, Trooper and Annie all from my stock of dogs.
First drop Magic got treed alone it was a cold layup and he had the meat. Turned all dogs loose again Maggie and Magic went .66 miles and treed hard we drop around only to find out the walked off the tree why I have no idea.
We ran into some other hunter the had stuff off Lionelle Charles Buck dog so we cut them loose I left Magic in the truck. They all went one way Maggie went out in a open cornfield she opened out 300 yards out and the race was on. She caught the coon on the ground but he got away from her she treed him on a leaning branch over water. Video will come soon. She finally got help from Lacey and a serious water fight happened but the dogs ended up winning. Coon dunked Maggie once but I was in the water with them to help. Tons of excitement and fun I got home at 4:30 the other guys dogs did finally tree a coon after we got back to the truck. I 'm tired but will hit the woods with Earl Howell tonight for a few drops.

We treed one den and two singles. Boomer got first trees on the coons. Man he is tough to get a tree on. Last hunt we had Maggie got the trees on him but he returned the favor last night.
I will skip Monday night for my Mu Tiger basketball game.
Boomer has that big bawl mouth that Uchtman dogs are known for and good loud chop on the tree and he is accurate.

I'll hit the woods tonight. We have Illinois on Saturday that is going to be a great game and a good test. I won't be in the woods that night. I will try my hunting skills in St Louis on the dance floor after the game
I may take Sounder alone tonight. He is begging to go. Man he actually hunts to hard for me at this point. Only because I don't have the hunting spots with all the private land around. Not sure he has reverse anymore. He will be treed somewhere. He will set in the pen alot this season. Maggie can be called in and will have some reverse but I see her doing the same thing in the near future. I must be getting to old to hunt hard go yonder dogs.

It's not a problem with distance with Sounder. I think you have trouble with the dancing shoes as it takes a lot more enery to court the ladies and dance as it does to walk after a dog. I have done both also and that is JMO. LOL! Dave P.S. Sounders sounds like my kind of dog.

You are right but I'm trashy and can't help it Sounder is typical dog that comes from what I raise normally. They start out about medium hunters then no reverse. He has the mouth I can hear a long ways. He isn't mean anywhere. He trees on and off the tree and can get alone. Not sure he can take a rough dog on the tree but I'm Ok with that because I DON'T hunt rough dogs. It doesn't make him any less a coondog in my opinion. He is all coondog.

First drop she made a 900 yard circle and came up with one den tree. I recast her she made another loop with no bark. I loaded up and went to another wildlife area. .66 miles later she treed so I walked in and coon was seen and she got rewarded for a job well done.
Terry Estill and Earl Howell were out hunting I think they got three. Spud split from Boomer and had two and Boomer had one.
Maggie is ready for the hunts this spring no doubt in my mind.
Looks like bad weather is going to set in for a few days so I will lay low and internet coonhunt.

I know I can still hunt in it but when the feet get cold it is over. Might turn something loose Sunday night not sure just yet.
I never hunt on Christmas eve or Christmas. Something about those to days I just stop the killing. Sounds crazy but it just my thing I guess.
