John,most of Drifters littermate females are coming into heat or just getting ready to go out.I can`t wait to get Sugar Momma back out. This may be the best cross yet.I know where one female mabe forsale if your interested.she is in heat right now,so that would be out of the way.
Good Luck at Milwood call me if you do any good.I ll be waiting up for your call. LOL
Planning on being at Flora couple more times this year sure is one of my favorite places to turn a hound loose.so layoff those coon and thin down those possums for us. just kidding still will never forget Tommy getting U all worked up. see you soon.

I ll tell you this litter seems to be so determined to get the job done.take your time with him and enjoy him John,He just turned 1 year old and becareful with the drawl of your cast check them out you have plenty of time.

Its been another busy week for me and the hounds.Kennel is coming along real nice.Robert Welch bred his Wendy female to Kid this week so should be a few pups avalible out of her.

I have 3 of my female s bred to him and that being Fly Lou and Sunni,Kids limited breeding has been turning a few heads and I see a brite future for him.
I have good quality proven females from a line of hounds that have stood the test of time.may not suit everyone thats impossible to do.I do know they have excelled to some of the hardest to please hunters.It`s my pleasure to work with all and I continue to be on the the lookout for the ones that stand out.creame of the crop so to speak.Thanks to everyones hard work.

Didn't do any good last Friday had second strike , first tree and on that track he was four min ahead of the other dogs before they got to him running same track just run off and left the other dogs like they was sitting still then a coyote came in and sent to other dog packing back to us. He stayed until we was almost there , we seen coyote come in field and he came out behind it and judge minus him he went back I retreed him and coyote went back in and two min got me so I withdrew at that point. Now just get him ready for Bluetick days

John,I m looking forward to seeing Drifter hit the timber.I ve been getting so many reports on his littermates, I think they might be 3 in the young guns and a few others out of Tree Daddy.I did get to hunt with Image the other night and all i can say is he is looking as good as any for his age and the best is right around the corner for him.congrats on ordering a pup out of Image and Baby Six. I think it will be something extra nice.
Another cross in the works a female littermate to Image bred to Legends brother King.uncle neice cross doubling Tree Daddy close. just wanted to let you know a few crosses in the works.thanks for the update and Good Luck to you.

had a close call withh Drifter tonite turned loose in the A.E.P. ground which isnt bad hunting large sections all gravel roads and if u see a car its a rare thing. when i turned him loose went about 50 yards and peeled left handed cut back out to the road and crossed it no big deal. he struck up in the section and drove a track and treed in the ground which he dosnt stay in the ground no big deal he 237 yards away. he hushes for a bit and opens up at 467 yards away drives a track on in there a ways and and never locates just starts treeing real funny but not moving any where, so i get my self up and start heading that way when i get in to him he had went off a high wall which was twice as high as any massive oak u could find, it was almost as if u was a bird flying over the trees and Drifter was about 25 feet down on a ledge and i couldnt get down to him. so i started calling him and turned my lite off so it didnt blind him and cause a fatal slip.after about 20 minutes ofd calling him he made his way back to the top and i was releaved. after getting back out to the road gary said where he was at was about 75 feet high and he was lucky he wasnt dead and that high wall ran horse shoe shaped for about 2 miles. after that ordeal i came home and called it a nite!

Had a good hunt tonite, drifter and Gary's Kate female treed a coon in a little swamp. Then went to the river and drifter treed 867 yards in on a maple that over hung the river and you could only see one side and we couldnt find his coon there. We recast the dogs and and another 840 yards down the river they split tree about 30 yards apart and we found drifters coon but not the ( wal-cur) dogs coon.

Kid is doing great he sure has been looking good pleasure hunting he s been real accurate and is real good about having the meat above him.I m gonna continue hunting himin the heat. last week he did something to his back foot and was holding it up.soaked it in epson salt and rubbed it for awhile and he came out of it friday night.he is good for about 2 hours then it bothers him.I keep tellin him its a long way from your heart and he wags his tail and says lets go.he he he

Keep me up to date on pups. I think a female from this cross would cross very well on Drifter. What kind of mouth does she have? Is she a big wide hunting type dog? Did she start early? These are the traits I'm looking for.

She started at 4 -5 months old .quick strike and runs with mainly a chop on track and locates with a bawl hard chop on tree.good mouth carries good.won t pass up any tracks and trees as they come to her.I ve seen her split and have the coon numerous times.she s real nice.she s the right kind and Philip whitley has the only littermate to her.male big bawl mouth and big locate and chop on the treee.she started a month before he did.if she was a bawl on track i would nt have her.philp likes a bawl mouth track dog.shes so quick it don t bother me.
