Just got in from my hunt at Prarie Home, I hunted Ruby, had my chance but could not get the coon to cooperate. Three dogs were scratched for treeing off game. I got to hunt Ruby by her self for 1 hr and 40 min. Two den trees 1 circle tree and a barn, no plus points. She looked good but no cigar........Tim

I think I'm starting to get over my caugh,It's only been 4 weeks. I'm going to be gone for most of next week. WhenI get back I will come up and get the pup. The pen & floor is all most done.......Doug

Been hunting hard but I've had a slight set back, the Zip female is comming in season so she's done for the next three weeks. One good thing though, is she wiil out by the time our kill season opens. The 7mo. old pups are going to kill me, they are all comming along but I need to be about 20yrs younger to keep up. The Ryder and little RoosterIII pups treed a possum and after I convinced them, that was bad, they have backed off treeing, but I'll work them on a hang up coon and they will be ok. The Lincoln pup, put one in a hole in the creek bank and dug in, took me 30 min. to dig him out. The next turn out he crossed a creek that looked like the Colorado river and by the time I got to him he gave up and went on to the next one, put it up but didn't tree worth a darn. Typical pup stuff, if I'm tuff enough to keep up.
Will try and get with you to hunt in couple weeks.

Any time that you want to come up for a hunt you know that yopu are more than welcome to come and stay.

I am glad that you are younger than I am, I don't if I can take that many young dogs. I guess that is the reason most of my dogs are already finished by guys just like you, keep up the good work. I am getting ready to go to the woods with my old broke dogs...........Tim

It sure was enjoyable hunting two old dogs tonight, turned loose 3 times 2 single coons and a den tree back home by 11:30. Cleo and Jack looked good. Jack looked to good he now has a new home........Tim

Thanks for rubbing it in, but one thing about it , it sure is fun (sometimes). Stayed in last night, Timmy is back from his weekend college (I thought that after 4yrs and a diploma in ag buss. that he was done, guess I was wrong.At least I think he is taking classes, wonder what they are? ) Anyway he is here to help with the pups, we're going tonight.

Just wandering how your hunt went with Paul? Timmy and I took the old dog out with 7mo. old Lincoln pup, made three trees, only seen one coon. Seems like they were laid up, didn't have any races and the pup just wasn't interested with out a track to run. The pup did get off by himself and opened a couple of times but didn't go any where with it. Old RoosterII went the other direction and treed but we couldnt find anything. Last turn out the old dog just slammed one about 100yrds from the truck and the pup just hung around but didn't act like he could smell any thing. Going to be gone to a family reunion through the weekend so we will get back in the woods next week.

Same here, we had to go to the hills to stay out of the big water. We did hunt in the rain last night, 2 kitten coon right off the road but the old dog was the only one that could smell them. Kicked them on down the ditch and the pups (RoosrterIII, Lincoln) opened and treed but were about three trees over from where the coon was. After 1 1/2 hrs of that we were soaked and opted to go back home.
