Roger,it was as fun of a hunt as I have been to this year. We had a blast & Dan finishing "Patch" to the new title's of "GrChNtCh" was truly icing on the cake. I really didn't wanna make that trip to bad but I decided to cowboy up cuz I wanted to be there with Dan when he capped off either or both title's.

There was a lot of grinnin goin on between the two of us & on the way home with "Patch" in the back seat there was very little time one of us wasn't pettin him!

Took me about 40 minutes or so to get to him, and it's flat down here!!! I'm used to the hills of Vernon and Crawford counties where 40 minutes is pretty quick... ha ha

It was a little longer than I'd like for a dog like him to be getting shocked for doing the right thing.

"DANG GUM TICK'S"!!!

"Patch" has been having issue's here & there for the past 6 week's or so. Originally figured he was wounding himself since he operate's like a bull dozer when he smell's a coon. When he started rotating injury's, limp's & stiffness I figured it could be Lyme Disease.

Today we took him to the DVM & my suspition's where confirmed. When the test was done the Lyme's part came up in a couple minute's & the doc said 5-10 minute wait for result's. He said the worst case so far this year going by the test thingy.

He is now on drug's for the dang gum tick born disease & some anti inflamatory stuff for his joint's & such. He has been doin his thing everytime he goes but I can't wait to see him when he's healthy again.

Physical therapy is swimmin in the pond lookin for the rock's I throw in there.

BIG OUCH!

We use the Lymes vaccine here on ALL of them... I think I have only had one dog over time NOT test positive... My old greyhound Gunner was our first to have it...but we caught it pretty early.... WATCH out for yourselves! It SUX to get it... My sister and a couple friends have had it... SO... be careful. Hope Patch feel s better soon.... and is FINE from then on!

Take care, BCD

"HEAD BURY'N BLOOD SUCKIN"..............

I am impressed how much better he act's already from just the first dose this mornin. I think the anti-inflamatory stuff is helpin that out a fair share. Went from carryin a leg & actin like he wanted to carry the other's to bouncin between bench's & jumpin up on me in about 12 hour's

Perry, same gig here twice a day for 21 in a row. Kept him home tonight as much as we wanted to load him in the box for a lil road trip but tommoro night maybe depending?

My first time to have to deal with it. They wear flea collar's,get regular bath's with the hi-zute shampoo & searched pretty much daily, especially the housedawg model's which he is but I guess it just take's one of them lil blood suckin buryin their head into your hide lil sob's to contract it.

Got an almost 6 month old pup that's been treed for a good 30 minute's I best go check out down the lane a smidge. Figure's, I turn her into a housedwg yesterday & let her out this evening, she goes & run's off to tree on one of our favorite den's I think anyway!

GEEEZ!!

I don't get a Saturday night off too often, in fact, tomorrow will be my 4th Saturday off since October. I've gone out a few times the last couple weeks, and they are something fierce, but I'm so excited about going to an event, i'll try and toughen up.

I'll prolly still be scratchin' till my next Saturday off!!!

Russ, I bought cow tags to use for flys, fleas, ticks 2 weeks ago, but Tues. when it was so hot and humid I took the garden hose and was washing my dogs off and letting them cool down some. I noticed a good sized tick on Butchs back. Dont know if the tick was on him before are after putting on the tags. Now Im wondering if the tags do the job, are the ticks just dont mind it. LOL
