It sure is hard trying to get these young guys to go hunting.At onetime when my Boys were in School we had a house full on the weekends wanting to go hunting now theres ONLY ONE that has stuck with it the rest are done to much work !!!!!! FOR THEM
I have learned if u want something u better get your butt in gear & GO AFTER IT !!!!!
As Ive gotten older I see why the older guys wanted me to hunt there dogs & they didnt weary if they were ready come hunt time because they knew I had done my HOMEWORK for THEM & THERE DOGS.Plus I had hunted my own.
From what I SEE today they MUST ASK THERE WIFES FIRST !!!!!! I know this wont set to good with some but Ive set & want 1-2 Hrs. wanting on them to get here fighting with theres wifes to go COONHUNTING.Ive had guys call me back & say well if I go my wife will have my things packed & setting outside. Heres what I told them tell her your going COONHUNTING & when I get home have your things packed & BE GONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO REASON FOR THIS,Even today I have some that MUST ASK MOMMA TO GO HUNTING these are guys that are just living with some GAL ?????????? I dont understand theres alot worst things a guy could be doing than Coonhunting.MY WIFE has NEVER TOLD ME I COULD'NT GO ((FACTS)) & I hunted at least 300 nights a year before I had all my Heart trouble ((NEVER)) did I ask to go & ((DONT ASK TODAY)) !!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this is the reason we DONT have as many hunts now these GUYS get lead around by there NOISE & give into HER.I've even offered these young guys 1/2s on a pup you make then Nt.Ch. & I'll sign the papers over when Ive had to many dogs cant even get them out of the house this day in time.
((NOW IM NOT KNOCKING ALL WOMEN DONT TAKE THIS ALL ABOUT WOMEN)) because there some that stand behind there husband in the coondog world but these ARE HARD TO FIND !!!!!
I understand a man NEEDS a WOMEN dont get me wrong but they need to understand theres things in life we LOVE TO DO,MY WIFE HAS COOKED A MANY MEAL FOR GUYS that have come here & stayed & NEVER SAID ANYTHING BUT COME BACK WHEN Y'All
CAN.Its just a goodthing she UNDERSTOOD ME when we were dateing because I told her if it comes to you or the dogs they WILL BE STAYING IVE HAD THEM LONGER THAN YOU !!!!! SO WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE OVER COONHUNTING.
Ok Nuff of trying to get young hunters to go Coonhunting its there lose its a GREAT SPORT U either like it or U dont U cant make someone go out there & GO COONHUNTING its like telling me I MUST GO FISHING ((NOWAY)) Not for ME Im JUST A OLD HAS BEEN COONHUNTER NOW ALL BROKE DOWN & NO PLACE TO GO !!!!!! I pretty much set & wait for someone to help me now & its NO FUN NEEDING HELP.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU PRESTON, I'LL DO MY BEST TO GET U A PUP DOWN THAT WAY HERE BEFORE TO LONG IVE HAD A LONG LISTTO TRY AND FILL, I STOP TAKING NAMES SOMETIME AGO.
ONE OF MY GOALS WAS TO SEE LIGHT'IN ON THE CURRENT REPRODUCERS LIST AND THANK GOD I GOT TO SEE IT.WE HAVE TWO DOGS HERE THAT HAVE THERE FIRST PLACE WINS ON THEM I'VE BEEN VERY BLESSED AND YOUR WELCOME TO COME HERE ANYTIME YOU WANT TO, BE GLAD TO HAVE U JUST HOPE THEY CAN DO SOMETHING FOR MY BACK HERE IN A FEW DAYS IF NOT ((IM SELLING OUT)) NO NEED TO KEEP THEM HERE AND WALK THE FLOOR NOT ABLE TO HUNT THEM AND WASTE ALL THE MONEY ON DOG FOOD.THERES SEVERAL OUT THERE JUST ABOUT READY FOR THE NT.HUNTS LATER THIS SUMMER.

REMEMBER THAT AT ENGLISH DAYS A COUPLE YRS. AGO ??? 
Lightin should be at the top of the list of Studs to choose from, I know he has covered several females and produced.. Im very glad that you have done and continue to better our breed.. I smile EVERY time I see one of the dogs you have produced belly up on the tree! As far as the new hunters, there are very few trying to get started these days, I wish there were more Young guys out there to follow in the footsteps of all the great people from the past. Its sad that they arent. But Hopefully in time we can all continue to invite newcomers to the sport and actually get them the top quality hound or pup that a newcomer needs to stick with it. Some day im gonna get up your way for a visit, and hopefully maybe we can visit again at Redbone days in TN this year.. Yall take care and keep up the good work... I still want a Lightin X Queen female sometime if at all possible... Keep me in mind please ,
FAYE IS IN NY BEING HUNTING BY TODD SHE HAS NO TROUBLE TREEING HER OWN COON & HAS BEEN THIS WAY SINCE SHE WAS A PUP COMING 2 YRS. OLD.(((TREEDOG))) & LOVES TO SPILT TREE.
